History has yet to determine if Adolph Hitler was a genius or just certifiably insane. I can sit here and make a strong argument for either side of the debate. In many ways, the same argument can be said about Barack Obama. There are many things that are similar about the lives of John F Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln. There are many things similar about the lives of Barack Obama and Adolph Hitler.

Hitler was born in Austria and was elected to the highest office in Germany. Obama was born somewhere but to this date the debate is not yet settled on exactly where to being elected President of the United States.

Hitler was an average student at best. Obama was an average student at best.

Hitler used thug tactics and labor unions to amass power. Obama used thug tactics and labor unions to amass power.

Hitler believed in a strong central government and once in power placed people in positions to circumvent the German congress and secure that power. Obama believes in a strong central government and placed people in positions to circumvent congress to secure more centralized power.

Hitler had his “Brown shirts” to do his dirty work once in power. Obama has the AFL-CIO, SEIU and ACORN to do his dirty work once in power.

Hitler appointed Rudolf Hess, a man with no morals, as his number 2 person in the Nazi party to ensure everything he did was deemed legal regardless of the truth. Obama appointed Eric Holder, a man of no morals or ethical standards, Attorney General to deem every action taken by his administration would be deemed legal regardless of facts.

Hitler hated England because of Germany’s defeat in WWI. Obama hates England because his grandfather was imprisoned and tortured by England.

Hitler surrounded himself with hardline socialist like Hermann Goring, Wilhelm Keitel, Otto Dietrich and Josef Mengele. Obama surrounds himself with socialist and communist like Andy Stern, Richard Trumka, Cass Sunstein, Kathleen Sebelious and John Holdren. Nope, not much difference in either list.

Hitler killed over 6 million Jews. The Obama administration supports the Muslim Brotherhood whose sole purpose is to destroy Israel and every Jew living there and create one Middle East Muslim nation.

Actual historians know that Hitler would have never been able to rise to power had it not been for the failures of Herbert Hoover or the deeper plunge into depression brought on by the actions of Franklin D Roosevelt. Obama would not have been elected had the mainstream press actually vetted him to any degree that they did Romney, Huckabee , McCain, Palin or even Hillary Clinton.

Hitler took a country that had been devastated economically and brought it to the brink of greatness before destroying it by means of war. When Obama came into office the US economy was fragile but not broken. His attempts to destroy the U.S. economically have inflicted damage but have yet to break the back of capitalism. Try as he might, he will not be able to create his socialist utopia, go down in history as a savior of a nation or even remembered in history as a better than average president because capitalism will find a way to survive.

It took Hitler 6 years to fundamentally transform the German nation. Obama promised to fundamentally transform the United States of America. President Obama, I believe when you leave office you will come as close if not closer to transforming this nation than either Teddy or Franklin Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson or even the likes of Nixon, Carter, Clinton and Bush 43 combined. It will take decades to rebuild that which you will have destroyed in a mere 4 years.

Upon emerging from the constitutional convention which formed the basis for our government, Ben Franklin was supposedly asked by a woman outside the hall, "Mr. Franklin, what kind of government have you given us?" To which Franklin replied, "A Republic, madam, if you can keep it."

I have faith in America. We have tough times ahead, but I do not yet think America has seen her greatest hour. I may not live to see it, but I have the strongest of convictions that my children and grandchildren will.

In the 50’s Joe McCarthy was the leading politician who was rooting out the evil socialist/communists in America. He did uncover many political figures silently trying to fundamentally change America. Unfortunately he did ruin a few careers in the entertainment industry that ended up being falsely accused of being communists.

Today we need a voice in government to bring back the Joe McCarthy style investigations. Today in Congress we have 70 politicians who proudly fly their “socialist flag.” They are doing anything in secret they are blatantly declaring their allegiance to the principles of socialism. You know many of these politicians; most will do anything for a photo-op. Some helped write bills that Americans are so vocally against. To be honest, the backlash against Hollywood is the 50’s would be well deserved today as many actors and those in the entertainment field actively support dictators, socialists, and communists.

When I first heard about this latest poll, I’ll admit I was floored. But after reading about the internal divisions of the poll, it all began to make sense. The big dividing factor seem to be age related, and investment related.

If Obama has been good at one thing, I’d say he’s been good at getting his socialist agenda across to the younger generation. It seems to be the “in thing” to do now to claim yourself as a socialist.

The under 30 crowd tends not to have or make investments for future use, and therefore see the benefits of social programs, while the over 40 crowd that makes investments favors capitalism 5 to 1.

To see how effective Obama has been at getting his message across, the very same poll was done in December 2008, and the results were very different. At that time 70% preferred Capitalism to Socialism. Obama’s message is that America’s system is flawed, from the Supreme Court to the financial system, and the youth seem to be eating it up.

It seems that American Society is ripe for this message of entitlement, because to be honest, the youth of today are considered by many to be the “entitled generation.” Add that to the fact that youths are more easily swayed, and you have the new volatile mix of politics today. For some reason, the youth live in the “now” and not for the future, they haven’t informed themselves about history, or even the recent past for that matter.

I think a past quote says it best; “If you are under 40 and you aren’t a Democrat you don’t have a heart, and if you are over 40 and are a Democrat you don’t have a brain.”

When I sat down at my desk today, I had no clue as to what I would write about. I noted last night that my favorite polling group, Rasmussen has Obama’s approval rating dipping below 60% and his disapproval rating topping 40% now. That little margin in between the numbers is slowly but steadily shrinking. I could probably sit here and fill up a couple of pages on why this makes me happy or why I think this is happening.

I finally got around to a couple of emails that I didn’t get to yesterday and after reading a quote from someone, that totally changed my mood and my thoughts about what to write about this morning. Today I realized that I still have reasons to believe that America will wake up before we find ourselves in too deep of a mess to get out of. I still have hope that America will rebel against those in our government that are trying to force America to change from capitalism to socialism.

Liberals are always providing ammunition for us conservatives to disagree with them. They do and say things that are not in keeping with the true spirit and meaning of the constitution. I have disagreed with many and defended few in my lifetime, but today, I have to admit, I am going to not only defend one liberal Obama supporter, but actually sing her praises because I honestly think she finally gets it.

The woman I speak of is certainly not Oprah. Oprah is completely absorbed in Obamamania that she will most likely never see the light of day again. I actually placed this woman in the same category as Oprah though. She too is an entertainer and has a large audience watching her weekdays on television. Here is her quote:

I'm losing my mind, because I don't understand why -- like they -- one of the things that I saw recently, they have this whole thing about taxing 'the wealthy.' Okay. Now, I don't mind that. I don't mind paying a little more tax 'cause I make a good living. But I don't want to get it coming and going. I don't want to get the federal raised and then the state raised and then the phone tax raised and then the television tax raised and then the city tax. Back off me!" --entertainer Whoopi Goldberg
There are not too many people outside of Hollywood and Washington DC that are as far or further to the left that Whoopi Goldberg. This woman has said things publicly that has made me want to jump out of my lazy boy and go punch the television screen. Today, she has instilled in me that there yet might be hope that even the left will see what is happening within our government and realize just how wrong their actions are.

The last list I read, there are around 115 different taxes we as employed consumers pay. I don’t even dare to try and list them all. Many of these taxes are on our bills every month. They are hidden in the prices we pay at the pump when we fill up our cars. They are embedded in the prices we pay at the store for goods. In my personal opinion, I think Sean Hannity’s statement that “52% of our income is spent on taxes” is a fair and pretty accurate statement.

Throughout history, the idea of taxing a country in prosperity has never worked. Taxing the rich and redistributing that wealth to the poor has never made a country’s population better off. Even Ted Kennedy once said that socialism has never worked. Of course then he went on to say that the only reason it has never worked is because he wasn’t running things.

I think Whoopi finally gets it. I think even she now realizes that we pay too much in taxes to a government that doesn’t have the first clue as to how to spend it wisely. To have to pay even more taxes even at her level of income is ridiculous and this will solve nothing.

I grew up with the idea that self was number 4 on this list of priorities after God, Family and Country. Even if you don’t believe in God or a higher power, there is still Family & Country that comes before yourself. Those in Washington have forgotten that is it not Government that comes first and certainly not “self” that comes second, yet this is their list of things that are most important.

We need to change this mentality in Washington. I believe that Whoopi even sees that there needs to be an attitude adjustment in the government’s way of thinking. Even leaving God out of the equation, if all the branches of the government at both the state and federal levels put Family & Country first and foremost at the top of their priorities list, we would not find ourselves in the mess are currently in.

Before this so called stimulus package was ever passed, VP Joe Biden stated that there was a 30% chance they would get it wrong. Before President Obama signed this bill into law, there were hints of Stimulus II already making its way around certain circles. Almost immediately after signing this bill into law, President Obama stated that the idea of a second package was not off the table.

We cannot expect the Americans to jump from capitalism to Communism, but we can assist their elected leaders in giving Americans small doses of socialism until they suddenly awake to find they have Communism. - Nikita Khrushchev

My first permanent assignment in the navy was a supply ship that carried a crew of roughly 270 officers and enlisted. Having spent 45 months on there, you pretty much get to know everyone. One day I was out walking around the flight deck just getting some air and a cook that slept two rows over from me came out about the same time. We walked around the mini flight deck shooting the breeze and he made a comment about me giving him a ration of “crap”. I asked him how much “crap” it takes to make a ration and he stated that the navy manual says it’s a full 8 ounces.

Ladies and Gentlemen, since January 2001 and the end of the Reagan Republican era, we have been receiving those small doses of socialism from our U.S. Congress. Since January 2007, we have been getting our full helpings of socialism from Congress. Since January 2009, it just continually flows with as much volume as water flowing from the Mississippi River.

We hear from The Big Three: Obama, Pelosi & Reid, the words security and comfort used in every speech they make. We hear how the government is going to provide that for us. I never remember my grandparents or even my parents using those words when talking about the government. I never once heard them say that they demanded or even wanted those things from the government. They grew up in a time where personal responsibility was taught both at home and in school. They were taught that we are what we make of ourselves.

There are several variations of a quote attributed to Benjamin Franklin. The quote is something like “He who would surrender a little freedom for security deserves neither and will lose both”. I think those words speak more truth now than at any other time in our nations history except maybe during the time of the Revolutionary War.

These are dangerous times. We are being lead by our government in a direction that has never before been seen in our 230 plus year history. The road that we are traveling is paved with uncertainty and is littered with tried and failed policies. A Stimulus II package would most certainly contain elements that would further diminish our freedoms beyond the current package and done so in the name of security.

Congress and President Bush knew that most of America did not want the bank bailout. This congress and President Obama knew that most Americans did not want this stimulus package passed. America was ignored both times. If conservatives do not now stand up and voice in unison our disgust with this congress and administration on how they ignore us, if we do not raise our voices to be heard over the loads of “crap” that the Big Three spew out on a daily basis, if we don’t put every effort into the defeat of those in both houses of congress who’s ears tune out our words, then conservatism, freedom, liberty and free enterprise loses and is likely never to recover from the blows they have been dealt over the years and especially the past 6 months.
