The Mess We Made


The Mess We Made

I know some of you out there are Romney supporters, some for Ron Paul and about as
many are for the other two, Gingrich & Santorum. Personally, I am not thrilled by any of them but all them are better than the current occupant of the white house.

It doesn’t matter which of these individuals get into the white house because they are all basically the same. None of them are real conservatives, not even Ron Paul. None are really strong on national defense. None are willing to fight the fight that it would take to truly secure the borders and despite all the hot air they have spewed, none is really wanting to actually reduce the number of people who currently work for the government or willing to bring those workers down to a level even with private sector workers.

Sure, they talk the talk but when have they ever walked the walk? Never,
according to their own records except Ron Paul and a snowball has better chance
of surviving a vacation in hell than he does of winning the white house.

Sadly, we ran off the best candidates. Sure, it is doubtful the best candidates would have been able to defeat Obama but not impossible. Of those that are out of the race, I would much rather see Huntsman, Perry, Cain or even Gary Johnson in the white house than any of the 4 remaining. Last go round, Huckabee would have been better than McCain or Romney but we ran him off. After Clinton beat Bush 41, who did we elect to run against him…….Bob Dole, nice man but a big government moderate at best.

No matter which gets elected, we can all rest assured that the best we can hope for out of these four is a president and an administration comparable to the likes of George H.W. Bush. The country wasn’t better off with Bush 41 in office than it was with Reagan, Eisenhower, or even Gerald Ford in office. Of course it also wasn’t as bad as when LBJ, Carter or Nixon were in office either.

Sadly, I didn’t even vote in the Missouri primary and this past week I didn’t caucus here either. Why does it matter? Republicans keep sending up moderates who they think can bring the country together but with every passing election, the left just keeps moving further left widening the gap.

How much further left are you willing to go? I’m sick and tired of having the choice of voting for a far left of center democrat or a republican willing to go betray conservative principals and move beyond center and into left territory to get watered down compromises that doesn’t do anything but slow down the left’s destruction of the constitution and self governance.

This election, like the last, I’ll vote for the lesser of two evils. 2016, republicans put up another fake conservative, I’ll be voting 3rd party and encouraging others to join me.

Higher Authority

In the military, it does not matter who you are or what your rank is, you have a higher authority that you receive orders from and you must answer to. The federal and state constitutions were written in such a manner that each of our elected officials no matter at what office they may hold must also answer to a higher authority, the voters.

Over the past 90 plus years, many of those elected to serve at the federal level as well as those appointed to serve at the federal level have forgotten that they serve and answer to the voters of this nation. At the same time, the voters have been growing more reluctant to hold these individuals accountable for the actions. There are a few noted exceptions; the people wanted Richard Nixon impeached and the result was that he resigned from office. Nixon was pardoned by Gerald Ford and as a result, lost his election bid and Jimmy Carter became President.

In Arkansas, Bill Clinton was elected Governor of the state. His midnight deal to raise taxes on motor vehicles licenses cost him his reelection bid. He did get reelected two years later after swearing to the voters that he learned his lesson. As President, Bill Clinton again forgot that he was accountable to the voters and during the first two years of his presidency he governed from the far left. As a result of his thinking he was above being accountable, America saw the biggest swing of power in one election year than had ever been witnessed before or since. Democrats had lost not only the majority of the senate which they had enjoyed for several years but also lost the majority in the house, an institution that they held majority in for over 40 consecutive years.

Bill Clinton broke a few campaign pledges and he did lie to the American people about his affair with Monica Lewinsky, but unlike President Obama, I do not believe he intentionally lied to the American people during the campaign and I do not think he intentionally broke his campaign pledges. I do believe that candidate Obama intentionally mislead the people and had no intention of keeping any campaign pledge he may have made except that of spreading (stealing) the wealth and fundamentally transforming the United States.

President Obama, unlike that of Bill Clinton, has no concept of accountability to the voters of the United States. He gives every indication that he is above the masses in the same manner such as that of Joseph Stalin & Adolph Hitler. This is why I believe that he will be a one term president. That being said, this is not all good news for conservatives.

The Clintons are smart. Obama may have more appeal and charm than that of the Clintons, but I don’t think he has the ability of beating the Clinton Political machine one more time. Therefore I believe that if his approval rating dips below 40 and I think it will by tax time next year, he will again face Hillary for the nomination. Only this time I think he will lose.

Why is this not good news for conservatives? I wish I had started keeping the things I wrote a lot sooner than I did. Back during the 08 general election campaign, I wrote an article stating that if John McCain were serious about winning the election in November of that year, he should choose Hillary as his running mate. Many who read that piece thought I was nuts and was thinking too far outside the box. To this day, I still stand by my opinion that he should have offered her the position instead of Sarah Palin. Not because I dislike Mrs. Palin, I like her a lot., but because it made more political sense. The old adage that the enemy of my enemy is my friend would have served America’s interest a lot better than an Obama presidency.

Hillary is still a darling in the democratic circles. She has overtaken Obama overseas as being more popular. With Obama’s track record being what it is, she is now more popular than Obama in moderate democrat and independent circles and the press continues to love her. If she were to win the democratic nomination in 2012, she would be tougher to defeat than Obama in the general election in my opinion. Her biggest advantage she has over Obama, as President, she would know who she is accountable to after having seen her husband forget and serving in an administration who doesn’t care to acknowledge that they are accountable to anyone. She is capable of swinging enough independent voters her way that the thought of Hillary as the 45th President of the United States is not out of the question at all.

Yep, the 2010 and 2012 elections are going to be very interesting indeed.

I have been experiencing a case of writer’s block like I have never experienced before. As I sit here I have no idea what to write. I know what I want to say but don’t know how to get the words on the screen to align themselves with my own personal thoughts.

Elena Kagen, President Obama’s choice to replace Justice Stevens. She has never been a judge and hardly a lawyer at all. I probably have more experience outside of college campuses in dealing with legal issues than she has. Even the press is hard pressed to find any accomplishments in her past that they can justify their own praise of why she would make a great choice for the Supreme Court. An accomplished poker player and a softball enthusiast is all they can come up with. That doesn’t even equal Sonia Sotomayor’s “compelling life story” that we all had to listen to and endure for a solid month.

To Obama, this is just another appointment he gets to make that will aid him in his bid to transform America into the fascist nation he thinks we should be.

Another push for is the American Power Act, or known to many as Cap & Trade. Fascists believe in maximum government control of private industry. If this act passes the house and senate, this act will place American government could almost equal to that of 1930’s Nazi Germany. Couple this with the Financial Regulatory Act currently making its rounds though congress, the value added tax that is being considered and the healthcare bill that recently passed and you have not a free America but a full blown Socialist America that is further left than any European Nation of the past 60 years.

The addition of Kagen to the Supreme Court will ensure 4 solid votes that all these acts are within the powers of the federal government. It also will give the federal government 4 solid votes to declare the internet a public utility thereby allowing government to control access and content of the internet. In Obama’s own words, the information being disseminated over the internet such as this website is a distraction and not good for America.

America is the last place on earth that people can come to enjoy freedoms anywhere close to what we have enjoyed during our lifetime. If 2 or more of these acts become law, then we are no longer will be a free and independent nation but just another country who’s population isn’t living but just existing. If this happens, I would rather live in Israel and die defending a nation from conquest of outside forces rather than die surrendering my freedoms to my own country.

“I’m just a Bill, yes I’m only a Bill, and I sitting here on Capital Hill”. One of my favorite Schoolhouse Rock clips that they used to show on television during Saturday morning cartoons. Then there was the Preamble, The Shot Heard Around the World, No More Kings and others that were designed to help kids understand the basic concepts of our government. These were simple in nature and easy to understand because they were targeted towards children.

I have at my house a copy of the Constitution & the Declaration of Independence. Not so much now, but in the era that they were written, these were written in plain language that was easy to understand so that anyone who at that time who could read would be able to read and understand them. John Adams, a brilliant lawyer and great legal mind helped draft these documents and even he understood the need for simplicity.

Our government today is supposed to be based on simple concepts. It is supposed to operate so that the average American can understand how it functions. Bills are supposed to be drafted so that it does not require half a dozen lawyers with dictionaries and thesauruses to be able to interpret and understand what is in them. The people were and still are supposed to be in control of the government, not the other way around.

Our founding fathers were smart men. They knew that over time people would evolve. They knew that language would evolve. They drafted the preamble to the constitution and the constitution itself with simplicity so that anyone with a 6th grade education could understand it. It did not matter if it was 1810, 1910, or 2010, the words they chose back then hold the exact same meaning today as they did when they wrote them.

What do we have today? We have a generation who do not study the constitution. Many schools no longer require it to even be read. The first time I read the constitution I was in the 5th grade. I knew the preamble by heart when I was in the 2nd grade. Many of the people walking out of college with a degree in their hands today have never even read these much less have any part of them memorized.

Focusing on the preamble:

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Simplicity at it’s finest. It was written more than 200 years ago and means exactly the same now as it did back then. Notice the first three words. We the People. We do all that, not some chosen few. The government was always meant to be in our hands and we control what goes on through our elected leaders. Today, our elected leaders would have us believe that they have been ordained by some higher power to lead us and know what is best for us.

For far too long, We the People have not demanded that our government listen and obey us. For far too long we have sat back and allowed government to dictate policy in this country. For far too long we have allowed the progressives on both sides of the aisle to chip away at our God given rights of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. For far too long we have been made to believe that morals and spiritual beliefs must be sacrificed for the greater good of the country because they have no place in politics.

Our forefathers kept things simple so that we could keep our republic as it was intended. We would know our rolls in society and know that all power rest with the population, not centralized in some out of the way corner of the country to be controlled by a few.

The United States has been the most extraordinary country ever conceived upon this planet. Founded on the simple understanding that rights come from God, not government and what God gives, government can not take away unless we allow government to.

In sports, when things start to go wrong, how often have you heard commentators say; “They need to get back to basics” or “They are not doing the simple things it takes to win”? As a nation, we need to get back to basics. We need to teach the simple things to our children so they can understand what this country was meant to be. Perhaps we even need our elected leaders to be required to watch episodes of Schoolhouse Rock so they too can understand the basic concepts of government and their rolls in it.

Rachel Maddow from the almost non-existent and certainly doesn’t matter network, MSNBC stated that Americans are being unreasonable when it comes to taxes. According to her, personal income tax levels are now at the lowest levels they have been since 1955. President Obama finds humor in the fact that Americans are complaining about the amount of taxes we are paying instead of “thanking him” for lowering taxes.

I may not have a Harvard education like Obama and I certainly wasn’t educated at Stanford and Oxford universities like Rachel Maddow but I do know that I am not as dumb as they believe all Americans are.

Let us examine Rachel Maddow’s statement in very simple terms. In 1955 there was no such thing as Medicare and Medicaid. Since these programs did not exist in 1955, it would have been impossible for the government to tax your personal income to fund them. Now to the un - Harvard or Oxford educated person like me, I consider this a personal income tax since the government has deemed that this money will be taken directly from my personal income paycheck. When combined with the bankrupt social security withholdings, this accounts to more than 7.5% of my gross income going directly to the government in the form of taxes. Add this to what they are withholding for what the government officially deems as personal income tax and that is more than 20% of my taxable income. I really don’t think the Detroit auto workers in 1955 America was shelling out 20 cents on every dollar they made to the federal government before they actually received a single dime themselves.

Now let us move on to Mr. Harvard educated Obama and the cronies that sit in congress who all think we average citizens can’t read, write or do arithmetic above the third grade level. First off, quit lying about lowering taxes. You didn’t. All you did was up the tax credits for certain individuals. Those of us who do not have kids living with us or going to college don’t get breaks. I must be one of those 5% who you were talking about when you said 95% of Americans making under $200,000 would not see one cent in tax increases and would actually see their tax burden go down. I know I saw my federal taxes go up for 2009 but I didn’t get a pay raise during that year. Think of all the hidden taxes we pay and then lie to me some more about how Americans who make under $200K a year saw their tax burdens go down. What are some of the things we pay federal tax on; electricity, natural gas, propane, gasoline, diesel, cell phones, land line phones, cable television, satellite television, internet, beer and alcohol, tobacco and so on and who can forget the latest, a tax on time tanning spas. Then think about all the taxes placed on banks and manufacturers who in turn pass those taxes on to their customers.

Sorry, but in 1955, the average middle class American had more disposable cash on hand than do today. My parents had more disposable cash when Clinton was in office than they had under G.W. Bush and they had more under Bush than they have today under Obama.

If this or any administration were serious about how much people shell out in personal and hidden taxes, they would abandon the current practice used in collecting taxes and go to a flat tax. Even those 40% who do not pay income taxes would benefit more from a flat tax than having to pay more each year in hidden taxes as we are now.

Like some of you, I watched Glenn Beck’s keynote speaker address to CPAC this weekend. It contained all the elements of good closing speech: fact, opinion, humor, history, personal touch and hope. Personally, I thought it was one of the better speeches I have heard in several years. What I liked second most about it: No Teleprompters.

That speech was delivered with Beck away from the podium over 85% of the time using nothing but note cards and when he was at the podium, he used a notebook, again with hand written notes that he hardly looked at. The White House, the media and those from the left made fun of Sarah Palin, when she jotted notes on her hand. I wonder how they are going to poke fun at this use of notes during his speech.

The speech was a mixture of a lot of things, but the one constant and what I liked most about the speech was pointing out the faults of both parties. I know the democrats will slam his speech for what he said about them but when you stop and think about the content of the speech, it was mainly directed at progressives and the Republican Party. Beck pointed out many of the causes for our economy being in the sad shape it is currently in. He didn’t blame Democrats; he mostly blamed the Republicans because under George W. Bush, they spent their way right out of office. Though some have learned their lesson, others haven’t and have supported Obama’s massive spending increases.

The speech was not a set in stone thing. It was given from the hip with only talking points for notes, yet in was energetic and entertaining. Unlike speeches given by the President, this speech was constantly moving and never dull.

Spending in this country by the federal government is out of control and does not appear to be a concern of most people in congress regardless of party affiliation. What objections we are hearing from republicans is more along the lines of how the money will be spent more than the amount of the spending itself. Unfunded mandates to the states are becoming more and more of a problem.

Government is so overweight but instead of carving out the fat in the size of government, they are more concerned about the amount of trans fat in our daily diets. Why on earth do we need over 2 million government employees who are not in the military? Answer is, we don’t. The EPA, Dept of Education, Health & Human Services, Housing and Urban Development and Dept of the Interior (minus park rangers) could all exist with less than 200 employees apiece if the idea of state’s rights were applied as per the constitution. The federal government would only be there to verify that the states are meeting minimum requirements in those areas and those minimum requirements would be drafted by a consensus of all states. It would be up to the states to determine and regulate beyond what the minimum standards would be.

I used to be a fan of the fair tax until I saw too many possible loopholes. Now I am a staunch supporter of a flat tax. Implement a federal and state flat tax and you could virtually eliminate the IRS and State Departments of Revenue. Businesses would be responsible for calculating the money owed to the federal government. The only thing the IRS would have to do is spot check business and those self employed to make sure they are compliant. The flat tax would eliminate sales tax, sin tax, utility tax and every other form of taxes. Everyone from the richest of riches to the poorest of all will pay an equal percentage and in over the course of a year, everyone will pay less including those who do not currently pay income tax. Why? Because they will not be liable for any of the other 150+ types of federal and state taxes.

Other ideas for shrinking the national debt: Scale back government retirement pensions so that they are equal to that of most businesses. The only exception would be for those who have served in the military or were field agents for the various federal law enforcement agencies. Members of congress and the President would each receive a base pay of $80,000 up to $150,000 per year (dependent upon time of service) and be paid a bonus based on a percentage of growth in the GDP as determined by an independent private company and verified by another. Members of the Supreme Court will be paid an annual salary equal to 120% of the total compensation received by the President for the proceeding year. Mandate that the Supreme Court must review all laws and executive orders before they are signed into law or action by the President for verification that they are within the limits set forth in the constitution. Congressional staffs must not exceed more than 8 per member of the House of Representatives and 10 for members of the senate. Travel expenses for those in congress must be approved and paid for by the government of the state they represent. Per Diem and other expenses would be determined by the state(s) as well. Last but not least, presidential and congressional retirements would be based on 45% of the average base compensation received during their time in office. They would also be subject to the exact same retirement benefits that those in the military receive and nothing more.

As per states like California and others who are broke. So what. It is not the responsibility of the federal government to bail you out nor is it the responsibility of the tax payers from other states to shoulder your burden. Your problems stop at the state line. Banks and big businesses, if you mismanage your company, it’s your problem, not the tax payers.

Of course nothing like this will ever happen because congress will not allow it. But these are examples of the kind of harsh measures we will someday have to undertake if we wish to continue to be the greatest country on the planet. We need to cut spending in every way imaginable and we need to cut the tax burden of everyone. We must do something. We can not continue down the path that this country has taken for the past 85 years.

America thought it was electing someone who was going to fiscally responsible. At least that was one of the 100 plus lies told by Obama during the campaign. Instead we got a weasel that spent more money in his first 13 months than the previous administration did in 8 years. Obama as President has turned out to be exactly like a weasel being in charge of security of hen house.

Anyone who has ever had to deal with a weasel knows they are not tidy animals. They get into everything, they tear up everything and they kill off the ones the coop was intended to keep safe. Yep, this sure sounds a lot like this President.

He got into the treasury and spent everything in there then printed up more money so he could spend it too. He stuck his nose into private sector job creation and his stimulus was a complete and costly failure. He stuck his nose into healthcare and prices rose at even faster rates than when he was keeping silent on the subject. He talks of regulating Wall Street and the stock market nose dives. He speaks of bank reform and the stock market nose dives.

Luckily for us, he hasn’t managed to kill off everything yet, GM, Chrysler, Drilling for Oil, Digging Coal, Building Power Plants and everything else is still around. A few of them on life support but they will most likely withstand the next three years we have to put up with this guy.

Calling Obama a weasel is not an insult. He truly is not an intelligent person. He knows nothing of economics. He picks advisors who know nothing of economics. He knows nothing about how to run a business, agency, city or state. He has never met a payroll. He has never known budget restraint. He cowers in the presence of others with influence. He has no bark or bite but still tries to intimidate others. If the man wasn’t sponging off the tax payers, he would be one of those 20% to 15% unemployed or underemployed we now have. If you took away his teleprompter, his speech writers and his handlers, within a week, he would be as lost as a 4 year old in your local mall who can’t find his parents. The only two things Obama knows how to say without a teleprompter is “I inherited this mess” and “uh”. That is uh pretty much uh most uh of his uh responses.

When a ship is about to be lost at sea, even rats have enough common sense to abandon ship rather than risk certain death. Same is true in politics.

Prior to the 1980 election, many of the “at risk” democrats resigned rather than face defeat. Same was true in 1994 & republicans did it before the 2006 & 2008 elections. I guess it is better to get off when you can rather than go down in flames along with your captain.

The 2010 election is shaping up to be a repeat of 1994. When Bill Clinton was elected to office, he tried his best to govern from the left. He had a senate and house that were controlled by the democrats and thought with certainty he could push through any legislation he wanted. In the beginning of 1994, he brought people on board hoping to turn things around in the face of mounting resistance to his agenda. Moving his agenda to a more moderate stance was something he refused. With people in place that could maximize the use of his charisma, he was certain that he could win over the people and continue on his more progressive path. When Bill Clinton went to bed the evening of November 8, 1994, he faced the fact that not only had he lost the senate, but he also lost a house that had been controlled by democrats for more than 40 years running.

Now we fast forward to 2010. President Obama in his first year in office has pandered to unions, special interest, lobbyist and his electoral base. He campaigned in the primaries as a staunch leftist progressive, making friends, promises and deals along the way. His Chicago style politics has managed to defeat the once thought to be indestructible Clinton political machine. Turning his attention towards the general election, he campaigns as a moderate. While doing so, he makes more friends, promises more things and makes more deals along the way. Before he goes to bed on the evening of November 4th, 2008, he knows he is the elected President of the United States.

Prior to taking office, my personal list of top ten progressive Presidents were, in order: Franklin D. Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson (the most evil President we have had), Teddy Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson, Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton, Herbert Hoover, George W. Bush, Gerald Ford and Harry S. Truman. No, Richard Nixon didn’t make my top 10 list. Since taking office in 2009, Barack Obama has easily slid into the number 3 position on my list. If healthcare and cap & trade pass during his time in office, he will move into a tie for the number 1 spot on my all-time progressive President’s list.

With democrats abandoning his policies and several already announcing their intentions not to run for re-election, one would think that Obama would learn from Clinton and the 1994 elections. To date, the only thing Obama has learned is that he and Bill Clinton do not share the same last name. He continues to pander to unions and special interest. He continues to pay back those big donors who financed his campaign with taxpayer money. He firmly believes that his name and his charm will carry democrats to victory in 2010. Unwilling to see the truth that surrounds him, unable to grasp the idea that Americans do not want the kind of change he is pushing, arguably this makes him the dumbest person in the history of Harvard to have graduated from that institution.

Why is it that the Obama administration uses the same phrase over and over and over and over………

The latest one lately has been the term “systemic failure”. Personally I am surprised that it took them almost a whole year to start using it. This administration has been a systemic failure from the start:

Closing Gitmo: In Obama’s first few days in office, he signs an Executive Order to close the prison at Gitmo without having discussed it with his military advisors like he stated that he would do when he was candidate Obama. Here we are almost 13 months later and almost a month after the prison was to be closed and he still has no idea what he is going to do with the prisoners.

Stimulus: America is in the worst recession since the Great Depression. If we do not pass this stimulus package, our experts say the unemployment rate could reach 9% and maybe 10%. It is imperative that we pass it now to keep the unemployment rate below 8%. So, how is that stimulus thing working out? 7 Million unemployed, about the same amount underemployed and if it weren’t for all the temps the government is now hiring, the unemployment figures would still be over 10%. In real numbers, we have an unemployment rate of around 17% but thanks to Clinton Math, the numbers no longer reflect what is real. I sure would like to meet those so-called economic experts and inform them that a Jr High School student could have done a better at doing their job than they did.

Fort Hood: Rat out your neighbors to the White House, but whatever you do, if you see a Muslim behaving strangely, do not tell a soul. If someone tells you of a Muslim acting or talking strange, keep it to yourself because you wouldn’t want to offend them. Tell that to the families of those killed or injured when Major Hasan went off the deep end at Fort Hood Texas.

World Stage: “I will restore America’s image throughout the world”. As if Bush destroyed it. I am not a big fan of George W. Bush, but when it came to the way we are viewed throughout the world, America was held in much higher regards than what we are now. You know it’s bad when China is preaching to you about curbing spending and there are more jokes being told about America than there are about France. Would someone please tell me of anytime in the history of the planet when a leader of any nation bowed to one of its mayors or someone in a similar position? Congrats Obama, you made history. Gee, I thought being President was a higher pay grade than being the mayor of Tampa.

This list could go on and on about the string of systemic failures that have occurred during this administration. We could include Healthcare, Cap & trade, The outrageous usage of Air Force assets by the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi and her family and friends, including the booze tab she has ran up. How about ignoring a request from top military general on the battlefield for more multiple months then after finally reading it, take another 3 months before acting on it.

Then we have Eric Holder, Lead Counsel for all Foreign Terrorist as well as being Attorney General of the United States. Give a would be bomber Miranda rights to the Christmas day bomber before any trained interrogator shows up on the scene and declare that we got all the information possible from him in a matter of 50 minutes. Decide to hold KSM’s trial in New York City at a price tag close to a billion dollars. A .38 round will cost you roughly $0.45 and is a lot more effective.

Look around, everything is a systemic failure. What Obama does not recognize is that he is the head of that system. Every one of these failures begins and ends with the President of the United States. Barack Obama, look in the mirror and there you will find the system. You are the system. You are the one who is supposed to make it work and accept responsibility for when it doesn’t.

When you are system and the system fails, guess what….you failed. Barack Obama, stop being a systemic failure at being the President and failing those you were elected to serve.

Don’t Ask - Don’t Tell

I write this knowing full well that there are some of you out there that will totally disagree with me and I will likely take some heat over my opinion.

The military policy of Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell has been debated for years. Since the 1940’s, the military has always been the one place government turns to implement new social and scientific experiments. Vaccines are always being force on those who serve in uniform before many of them are available to the general public. Unlike the general public, the men and women in uniform can’t just say no to getting a shot or swallowing a pill. Socially, the military was made to be the perfect example of political correctness in action. If someone in uniform resist, they are lucky if all they receive are a Captain’s Mast / Article 15 hearing and they will be found guilty as charged for disobeying a direct order. The usual punishment for this is 45 days restriction to ship or base, 45 days of having to work extra hours doing some of the nastiest jobs that need to be done, lose one rank and lose half of your month’s salary for a period of two months. Further refusal could result in being discharged from service with an Other Than Honorable discharge. In this circumstance, the former service member is not entitled to any or limited benefits they would otherwise had received.

Unlike their civilian counterparts, soldiers and sailors must obey the orders given them regardless if they agree with them or not. If an order is given, Commanding Officers will see to it that the orders are followed without obstruction because they have no choice. Don’t Ask - Don’t Tell is a manageable order for a Commanding Officer to implement and enforce. Sometimes it does cause conflicts with other orders such as, any person in uniform who sees another member of the armed forces violate an order, is required to report that violation of they too are in violation of obeying a direct order and subject to punishment. I had gay and lesbian friends in the military and on a few occasions I witnessed certain acts that were in violation of the ban on open display of gay and lesbian behavior. Did I ever report those individuals, no I did not. But had it been in a setting witnessed by the general public, I would have, as required by military orders.

The military, though large by normal standards is really a bunch of small organizations controlled by a larger one. The Unit Commanding Officers have a precise number of personnel and can not afford to give up bodies because it hurts military readiness and handicaps the unit’s mission. As the military is now, husband and wives can serve in only a few places jointly. In the navy specifically, no husband and wife can be assigned to the same ship. In the Army and Marines, no married couple may be assigned to the same combat ready unit.

If Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell were lifted, any gay or lesbian couple would be subject to the same practices and restrictions as male/female couples are when in a relationship. No couple dating may be in the same overall unit without permission from the Commanding Officer. Commanding Officers are “encouraged” to ensure that no two members who are in a relationship with one another serve in the same division within the command. By the word “encouraged” it is meant that they WILL ensure that it happens but it would be unlawful to specifically tell them to act in a particular manner.

Commanding Officers are already handicapped by numbers. They a limited amount of personnel. They have limited space and that space has to be split between male and female sleeping and showering areas. If a male / female couple has an argument and ends the relationship, it is difficult, but not impossible to keep them apart if the relationship ended badly. If Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell were lifted, and a male/male or female/female couple were to end their relationship badly, if would be impossible to keep the members separated and would cause disruption within the unit and lower moral. If a Commanding Officer were to ship one of the members off to another unit, that CO would not get a replacement for the person until such time he or she was originally scheduled to rotate to another unit. Even as little as two of these incidents were to happen within a unit, the unit could be crippled to the point that combat readiness and unit safety could be jeopardized.

In the eyes of some, Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell is a violation of constitutional rights. Since our military is an all-voluntary entity, when you enlist, you are voluntarily suspending your constitutional rights for the duration that you serve in the military already. You have no choice but to follow the directives the military has in place. Lifting Don’t Ask – Don’t Tell is inviting trouble into a unit at best and at worst, allowing for the possibility of needless deaths of up to several hundreds to be ever present. This policy is in place for a reason needs to remain in place. The subject of gays and lesbians serving in the military has been tampered with and watered down enough. Not this time nor any time in the in this decade is the time to experiment with watering it down further.

As Monday evening was coming to a close, I walked out on the deck to cool off. It wasn’t hot in my house as the temp inside was a comfortable 71 degrees. No, I had to walk out do to the mounds of stupidity that had just kept on mounting throughout the day.

I got in my truck at 6:00am to head off to work. I listen to local talk show host Chris Stigall every morning driving in. The first story I hear is about how the union bosses at the Ford ClayCoMo plant were complaining that Ford actually had a good quarter, turned a much better profit that they projected and the union didn’t see any of that money. Darn, they must have missed that $400.00 check that was sent out to all the employees. I know if someone sent me a check for that amount, I certainly wouldn’t forget about it. I haven’t had a raise here at work for couple of years now since they suspended all merit pay raises. I haven’t had a cost of living adjustment in my military retirement for a while either as it has been frozen by the good folks up in Washington DC. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about not getting a raise or a cost of living adjustment. I’m not making tons of money but my family isn’t starving either. Well over three quarters of the employees at the Ford plant here make more than I do. Their union boss makes a metric butt ton more money than I do and yet he’s complaining that the union hasn’t gotten enough of the profits? Ford has been running in deficit figures for years and I bet he got paid during those years. What would this clown like to see happen? Would he like Ford Motor Co to go the same way as GM and Chrysler? Sure, the union owns something like 55% of GM and 35% of Chrysler and yes, these numbers are probably wrong, but the point is, the union owns a good percentage of companies that they drove into the ground and are still trying to operate even though they are still drowning in a sea of debt and going deeper by the day. Message to the Ford Union Bosses: shut up. Be thankful the plants haven’t locked their doors and you still have a job. Ford made a pretty good profit because they didn’t take money from the government. More people are buying Fords because they didn’t take money from the government. My truck is a 2004 Dodge Ram but the one that will someday replace it will be an F-150 and why? Because Ford didn’t take bailout money from the government.

I get home and the first thing I always do is walk down and get the mail. There in my mailbox sits a 1099 from the state of Missouri. Why is Missouri sending me a 1099? I open it up and it states that because the state of Missouri has deemed my whopping $108.00 2008 state income return as interest and it must be claimed as such on my 2009 taxes. WAIT A MINUTE. This was money paid to the state, they get to hang on to it and draw interest on it, then give me back the small portion that I overpaid and now I suddenly have to claim that as extra money derived from interest and have to pay taxes on it. Way to go Jay Nixon. My wife has been a life long resident of the state of Missouri and this is the first year anything like this has happened. Hey Jay, why don’t you ask Bill Clinton what happens when you do something stupid as Governor and do not tell anyone you are going to do it. In Bill’s case, he lost his first re-election bid and the Republican became Governor of Arkansas for the first time since reconstruction. Jay Nixon, you are fast becoming a one term blunder. Keep up the good work. Would someone though please tell me how the heck this is even legal? How do you tax money for 2009 that was made in 2008 and taxes were already paid on it? It only increases my tax liability by a couple of dollars but that’s not the point. The point is that it should not have to be reported in the first place since it was already my money to begin with.

AW, I sit in my recliner, trying to relax even though I am still hacked off at the state of Misery, make that Missouri, for not handing out kisses to everyone they are nailing and what do I hear? Hark, it is the local news telling me that Obama’s budget is going to add an additional 1.56 trillion dollars to what is already a record setting deficit. This same clown just a few days ago preached about fiscal responsibility and here he is now, loading more debt on a nation that already can’t pay its own bills. Change you can believe in. Well, from everything I see, I really do believe that he is changing America from the greatest nation on earth into just another third rate country. Change you can believe in. I believe that America has no more change as Washington DC has spent it all. I have two credit cards to my name. One I have had for forever it seems and after my divorce from my fist wife, I paid that thing off after she maxed it out right before she left me for some other guy and have only used it twice and immediately paid it off both times. The second I have had for about two years and only used once and the only reason I have it is for emergency car repairs. Would it make sense if I were in financial trouble to look my wife in the eye and say “honey, I know we are in debt but we need to max these cards out to so we can get out of debt”? Washington logic only makes sense to those in Washington. Try this approach in the real world and the banks will take everything you own. Remember, these are the same people that want to control your healthcare.

As the evening winds down and I start to wind down also and try to get in the days episode of Glenn Beck that I DVR’d, I can’t believe my eyes. What in the name of Jesus, Mary and Joseph is our idiot President and his crony education system teachers trying to do to our kids. Had this been tried when I was in school, parents would have burned the schools down and those of the police and fire departments would have kept the radicals back so the flames could finish the job. State of the Union, 2010

It was disappointing for me to sit and listen to the state of the union address. Once again it was filled with arrogance, promises that were already broken, promises that will be broken and partisan rhetoric. Most will write about what was specifically said in the speech. Few will give an overall assessment of the speech. My thoughts are more along this line of writing.

The speech was a little long winded for a SOTU address. Most run about 50 to 60 minutes. Back several years ago, this speech was given as a way for the President to give his assessment as to where we are as a country and his ideas to get the country pointed in a direction that best served the people. John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan come to mind as the last two Presidents that actually gave a real state of the union address and left partisan politics out of it for the most part.

Last night was, to borrow a line from the democrats, more of the same. More of the President sounding like he was on the campaign trail instead of being the leader of a nation. More blaming the previous administration rather than taking stock in one’s own failures. He preached more at republicans instead of offering a hand of friendship in bi-partisan spirit. Yes, it was more of the same.

I believe that the most disappointing thing about the speech was again, Obama demonstration just how out of touch he is with Main Street America. He didn’t speak like he was talking to America, but rather talking at America. He spoke of why we should embrace his ideas even though none of those ideas has even a 40% public approval rating.

One of Sean Hannity’s definitions of insanity is trying the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different outcome. Obama’s ideas have been tried and have failed not only in America but in many countries of the world, yet here he is again, advocating that they will work this time under his leadership.

America does not need a cheerleader in the White House but we have one. America is not best served when her President speaks down to her. Most of America has realized that Obama is an unrepentant narcissist, unable to admit mistakes and unwilling to accept other points of view that are different from his own.

Obama told America that he could bring people together, heal the divisions of this nation. In one aspect he is correct. Throughout the past year and again with his state of the union speech, he continually brings republicans, conservatives and moderate independents and more centralist democrats together to oppose his ideas and his philosophy. This is his one quality that I like and have come to appreciate.

On 21 January, 2010 my wife and I combined lost roughly $6500 in our 401K / IRA accounts. Thank you very much Barack Obama.

That morning, our socialist President unveiled a plan that would prevent or limit the size of banks in relation to the overall financial sector. It would also prevent banks from investing in, owning or sponsoring a hedge fund or private equity fund. It would also bar institutions from proprietary trading operations not related to customer service, for their own profit.

The announcement scared off investors and caused a sharp sell off in the US and Asia markets. Britain, France and Germany also took hits but were able to recoup some of what they lost.

Hasn’t this President and this administration figured out yet that what Americans and even world markets want is less government regulations, not more. The reaction around the world is a direct result of this administration’s intentions of pushing more government regulations and controls on the free market.

So far, the market has survived several blows and keeps bouncing back. This is not because of the stimulus package or government regulations. The markets around the world keep coming back in spite of them. The GAO, CBO and every major economist not friends with or associated with the current or previous administration agree that government should have done nothing when the markets tanked last year. The blow would have been a little harder but the end result would be better and recovery would be swifter without government intrusion.

Something good though did come out later on that day. The Supreme Court declared that banks, unions and corporations have a constitutional right under the first amendment to spend freely on political advertising so long as the funds do not go directly to a political party or individual politician.

This administration has constantly beaten up on Wall Street Executives, CEO’s of major companies and “fat cat” bankers, blaming them and capitalism for everything that is wrong financially with America. What they can’t blame on these individuals, they fall back to the old standard, Blame Bush.

The administration and the left are up in arms as to how to get around this court ruling and limit campaign funds from these organizations. This is just another attempt by the Obama administration to further circumvent the Constitution for political gain.

The unions have been getting around the McCain Feingold Campaign Finance Law since its inception with some rather creative trickery. Banks and other corporations have not been able to because of the way they are structured. Now this opens the field for all to come and play and because this will level the playing field, the administration does not like it.

It’s bad enough to just announce a plan and have everyone lose money in their retirement investments. Open their mouths and spout an idea and see banks take major financial hits. Make an announcement and manage to scare off investments from Wall Street and Main Street. Then later on after the markets show a reaction to a plan, come before the public and try to defend it by saying they are looking out for the general public’s best interest.

The Obama administration would better serve the public if they learn and implement a few simple ideas: Deregulate, Down Size, Simplify, Constitutional Rights, Stop Spending, Stop Taxing and last but not least, Accept Responsibility. John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan recognized the need more most or all of these and the country prospered as a result.

This administration has proven time and again that it will not lead, can not follow and sure as hell refuses to get out of the way. Come January, 2013, the end result will be them being thrown out of the way by the very people they have been stepping on and ignoring for the past year.

(Note: I know this is really long winded, but those under 30 that read this website were never taught any of this in school.)

When the American colonist got together to form the Declaration of Independence and prepare for war with Britain, they chose a humble man, a courageous man, one of moral and honorable character, one possessing passion and compassion, one who could lead and inspire men and one who both knew the strategies of war and despised war to lead the Continental Army into battle against the world’s most powerful nation. George Washington accepted the appointment not for glory or out of vanity. He accepted it with honor and humility.

When Washington became America’s first President, again he accepted the responsibility that came with the position with grace and dignity. He was humbled by the position and was driven to be a faithful servant to those of the new nation he represented. He was a man deep of faith and moral conviction. He was also smart enough to know that those the position called for only one man to be the President of the United States, it was imperative that he surround himself with men of equal moral character and wanting like him to be humble servants to those they represent. He knew he did not know everything so he surrounded himself with experts in various fields who like him, wanted nothing more than to serve and do their best for a new nation.

Some of those he surrounded himself with were John Adams, an honorable man whom knew the law and held strong to the lawful rights of man and spent his life pursuing equal justice for all. Thomas Jefferson, a man who was an expert on the ideology of freedom and liberty and the importance of guaranteeing those freedoms to the populous. Alexander Hamilton, a brilliant man who knew business and finance and would be a key person to rely on in these areas. Benjamin Franklin, a statesman of worldly recognition and reputation who knew the world stage and had foresight as to what America’s role in the world should be and how to make other nations see America as a legitimate and recognized independent country.

These are just some of the key players that molded America into the envy of the world. They created a country like no other. It was unheard of that the power of a nation be in the hands of its citizens and not with a single person of an elite group of people. For a short time after the Revolutionary War, America was the butt of jokes for no nation could stand for long with people holding power over themselves. It did not take long for Europe to recognize that this new country with its radical ideas and concepts was for real and their own country began to marvel at the freedoms and the opportunities this new world had to offer.

During the next 140 years, America grew by leaps and bounds. Boat loads and boat loads came to her shores full of people seeking freedoms and riches. America grew both agriculturally and industrially. All the while, her strength and resolve would be challenged by the great European powers of Britain again as well as France and Spain. Each were dealt fatal blows and ultimately defeated by this new world nation. America even survived its own internal Civil War.

In the 1910’s and 20’s, the seeds of liberalism and progressiveness took root in America. Rejected by the citizens of this nation, progressive agendas were soundly defeated and liberty and freedoms remained. During World War Two, under the guise of necessity of war and protection from another great depression, liberal policies were finally enacted and the federal government enacted the progressive ideas of entitlements and initiated new forms of taxes to pay for those entitlements as the central government had finally wrestled enough power away from the states to actually make themselves more powerful but not yet masters over the individual states because they were unable to circumvent the Constitution of the United States enough to do so.

Every decade after WWII, the federal government managed to chip away slowly but surely at the powers of individual states and gathered those powers into a central collective. It used every opportunity to do so under the pretense of wars, medical advances, liberal interpretations of the Constitution and every crisis real or fiction. The federal government used every tactic known to advance the centralization of power and stripping liberties from its citizenry. Mostly though, the central government lied to and hid the truth from the people they were elected to represent as to their true purpose of actions.

By the late 1970’s, America was nothing more than a glossed over shell of the country our forefathers fought for, bled for and died for. True conservatives recognized this in the middle to late 60’s, though it was too late to stop it from happening. Our country was divided by the ideas of both faith and family & laws and liberties. Though is may have been called The Age of Aquarius”, its true name should have been The Dawning of Socialism, for those seeds that were planted some 50 years earlier had finally took solid root and began to blossom.

A man named Ronald Wilson Reagan, a former Democrat and Governor of California saw what was happening. He too was a man of honor and conviction. Not allowing himself to abandon his own principals for the sake of a political party, he left the Democratic Party because they had abandoned the principals with which they stood for by for decades to embrace this new era of the coming of age of socialism. Those Democrats new to the party saw a large block of non voters and moved their agendas farther left to encompass those that were referred to as beatniks and hippies from the 60’s and 70’s. Some moderate Democrats stayed the old party line while others became independents. Republicans too shifted. Those that were conservatives either stayed the party line or became independents also while those of a more moderate nature moved left to embrace the moderate Democrats that had abandoned their own party.

President Ronald Reagan did the impossible. He was able to bring moderate Democrats and Republicans as well as independents and conservatives together and by working together, was able to move the powers and influence and intrusiveness of the federal government back to levels that had not been seen in over 20 years. He overcame a recession and restored the reputation of the nation throughout the world that had been tarnished by the last 4 administrations (Johnson, Nixon, Ford and Carter). He had put America back on a path of growth and economic stability. He reduced the size and power of the federal government, energized the free market through government deregulation and restored a neglected and unappreciated military back into a proud, well trained and equipped superpower.

Things remained this way until 1991 and then progress of reclaiming the powers of America by its citizens stopped. Through the last 1.5 years of the George H.W. Bush administration, through Bill Clinton’s time in office and during the 8 years of the George W. Bush administration, the individual states as well as the citizens of this country had once again surrendered its liberties and the powers it had regained and gave them back to the federal government.

From the early 1900’s through 2008, there has never been an all out assault on our freedoms, our powers, our state’s powers or our own Constitution.

George Washington, our first President was a man of honor. He was a humble servant who sat in awe of this nation and the people. Our current President, Barack Obama is a man of vanity. One who sees himself as being above the people. He believes his role as President requires him not to serve the people but to look down on them and manage their lives for them as he sees the populous as helpless and unable to think clearly as to what is best for them. He doesn’t surround himself as Washington did with well known, intelligent and highly respected leaders of the nation as his counsel. Washington believed that the Constitution was the guiding principal for this nation to follow. Obama has repeated stated over his career that the Constitution inhibits government from its job in the areas of social justice and the redistribution of wealth. Washington and his administration gave our nation legitimacy on the world stage. Obama and his administration have made us look weak, indecisive and we are laughed at on the world stage. Washington’s administration shaped our economy which helped America become a leading economic power in the world. The Obama administration has reduced us to begging China for financial help.

From the 1770’s to the 1920’s, America went from being nothing and having nothing to the envy of the world. The 1920’s through 2008 saw America predominately abandon the very principals it was founded on and reduce itself in stature but still stand tall and proud. This past year, we have seen a nation more divided than during the civil war or the civil rights movement. America is changing and it is not for the better. If we are to survive as a nation, we must once again adhere to the principals set forth in the constitution. The government must trust the people to do what is best for ourselves as individuals and families. We must follow the law of separation of church and state but not adopt the concept of separation of church from state and allow the principals we are taught in churches to guide us in government. The people must wrestle power from government and make government fear the people once more. We must put America before party and ideology. Otherwise, we will become the next Mexico.

After having all the momentum for the first three quarters of the game, the blue team suddenly find themselves having to make the decision of a lifetime. To recap, the blue team scored two touchdowns in the first half to take a 14-0 lead. The blue team managed to get a field goal in the third quarter but you could feel the momentum shifting to the red team. The forth quarter has been all red. After having scored three touchdowns but with having missed an extra point, the score stands at 20-17.

So here we are now, the blue team having driven almost the length of the field only to have their drive stalled at the 4 yard line and actually pushed back twice by the defense, now find themselves on the 15 yard line. Now here we are with 0:02 seconds left on the clock, it’s now 4th down. If they kick a field goal, they could send this game into overtime. They have a great kicker who has not missed a field goal all season. They only have time for one more play. What do you do? Play it safe and kicked the field goal, regroup and come back in overtime or do you lay it all on the line and take one final shot at the end zone……….

With the election of Scott Brown Tuesday night to the United States Senate, the Democrats are faced with a really hard decision. The Healthcare Reform Bill in its current state is clinging to life support after having been given the hardest blow it could have received and having gotten that blow from the bluest of blue states. Independent voters let it be known loud and clear that they are tired of run away deficits, more taxes, increasing intrusion by the federal government into our lives. They are sick and tired of backroom shady deals and pandering to unions and other special interest.

Do they play it safe, scrap it completely and write a bill that makes sense or do they continue to ignore those that elected them to office and push this thing through at their own peril? Juan Williams of FOX News stated last night that he is convinced they will try to push it though then hope for that they can convince the American people that it was the right thing to do. The MSNBC pinhead trifecta, Matthews, Olbermann and Maddow want this legislation pushed at all cost. The White House narcissist egomaniac triplets of Emanuel, Axelrod and Obama are working overtime trying to figure out every angle to get this passed. Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are holding countless meetings in an attempt to find a way to still manage to ram this disaster down the throats of the American people and come out smelling like roses instead of sewage.

Democratic leadership must convince enough of their cronies that they can push this through and their own political futures will not be put at risk. They must convince them that what happened in Massachusetts last night was a fluke that resulted from Martha Coakley and her staff mismanaging the campaign. The scary thing is there are going to be some that will be convinced or convince themselves that this is really what happened.

This election was not Brown’s to win but in fact Coakley’s to lose. I agree with Greta van Susteren and her comment last night that Coakley had some gaffs but she was done in more by those in Washington that cut the Cornhusker Kickback and the Union Cadillac Tax exemption deals than her own gaffs.

I said a couple of weeks ago that there is no longer such a thing as a Moderate Democrat in Washington. I still believe that there a few Centralist Democrats in Washington. You are asking yourself what the difference is. My personal definition of a Moderate Democrat is a Democrat that will vote with his party until the party comes in conflict with his or her own morals. A Centralist Democrat is a Democrat who will vote with his party until the party goes against his or her beliefs in what is best for the country. There is not one Moderate or Centralist Democrat in the Senate. They have no morals and they only care about themselves and their agenda. Again in the House, I do not think there is any Democrat that has morals. I think they have all sold their souls to their party. I do think that there are maybe two or three in there that would not in good conscious go against their own beliefs and ideas of what is good for America, though only Heath Shuler comes to mind at the moment.

Is the White House and party elite going to be able to convince the Democrats in both houses to trust and believe that they have their backs and their seats are safe in order to push this legislation though? Only time will tell. The only things certain now is that the Democrat party elite do not want to scrap this bill and will do everything within their power to see it signed into law by the State of the Union address.

Time for one more play, be safe and kick the field goal (scrap the bill in its current form and rewrite it in a bi-partisan fashion) or put it all on the line and go for the win (try to shove it down the people’s throats in its current form) and risk their own political careers in the process.

15 yards, 45 feet. There are 45 Democrat Senators that must be convinced to put their careers on the line in order to push this through. 5 already know they are gone at the end of their terms and will not care and one Vice President in the event of a tie who also knows his political career has come to an end.

There may be some of those 59 Democrat Senators who will claim to have heard the voice of the people, but as I said a few weeks ago, no matter what they say, they don’t care about the people and what we think, their only concern is covering their own backsides.

I bet when you read the title of this little blog of mine you thought I was actually thanking Al Ritter for something. Sorry Mr. Ritter, this “Thank You” does not go out to you. This “Thank You’ along with a big wet kiss goes out to none other than the good Reverend Al Sharpton. Wait…don’t be calling the state mental institutions to come and get me just yet.

While I’m at it, Id like to give a warm shout out to Harry Reid for without his gifted silver tongue, this moment would not exist. I’d also like to recognize the enormous contributions made by congressional Democrats and our own light skinned President who speaks without a negro dialect, unless he wants to, for finally striking the first meaningful blow given to political correctness in America.

That’s right boys and girls. Thanks to Al Sharpton and those others mentioned, Harry Reid gets to keep his Senate Majority Leader title and the term African-American is no longer required to be used. Harry Reid could have said African-American dialect but he didn’t. The congressional Democrats rallied behind Harry Reid and gave him their full support that his words were used in proper context. But, it was our good buddy Al Sharpton, Co-King of the race bating left that sealed the deal when he dismissed Harry Reid’s own words as acceptable language.

You have to know that Strom Thurmond is spinning in his grave over the firestorm Democrats raised about comments made about him by Trent Lott which led to Lott’s resignation as Senate Minority Leader in late 2002 and finally his retirement from congress in 2007. If Strom Thurmond could talk today, I’m sure he would be calling Harry Reid and the congressional Democrats a lot worse than just a bunch of hypocritical bastard’s right about now. I’d certainly like to be a fly on Trent Lott’s wall right now listening to what he has to say about it.

Trent Lott resigned for the good of his party. Harry Reid refuses to step down in spite of the good it would do his party. You silver tongued devil from the silver state, you may have just put the final nail in your political coffin. You are already down 20+ points in polls regarding your upcoming re-election bid. Your political death need not come at the expense of getting healthcare passed. Think about this Harry Reid, SEIU is the biggest union in your state. More than half of your support comes from them and ACORN. Many members of the Nevada SEIU & ACORN are black and I am sure they did not appreciate your comments. It sure stinks to be you right now don’t it.

So America, throw away your contemporary to politically correct language cross reference guides and prepare to embrace a new version of an old concept, speaking freely.

Government believes that the average person is too stupid to think for themselves. Therefore, they must do your thinking for you. They see themselves as the great stewards of our lives. They know what is best for us, they keep us from harm and if you watch the actions of any politician, they know how our money should be spent better than we do.

Forget “Praise Be To God” or “Praise Be To Buddha” or whatever your preference is, is becoming a think of the past. Government would rather you say “Praise Be To Government”. If they had their way, no longer would we assemble in churches and learn about our own creation or the plans of our creator. Instead our children will teach us of the things they have learned in school and how great and giving our government is and we should be thankful for the liberties and even our own existence that government provides us. Instead of praying to a higher power or talking to a member of the clergy, government would rather we just send our elected representatives an email or go visit a welfare office to seek guidance or advice.

There is not one single thing I can do or say to persuade you to agree with anything I believe. There is nothing Al or any of you can do to make someone agree with your line of thinking. The best anyone can do is present you with facts or truth as best they know them and hope that you take the time to research the information and come to your own conclusions.

Government’s greatest fear should be the people they represent. Our government no longer fears us. They have media believing they are the great savior of this nation and all who inhabit it. Media will profess that Big Brother is looking out for us and is doing what is in our best interest whether we believe them or not. Most media outlets want you to get your information from them so that you won’t have to burden yourself with doing a little research or heaven forbid you find something that contradicts the great MSNBC Oracle Keith Olbermann.

Impoverished, stupid and dependent upon government is the goal of the progressives. In their eyes, only the elite should have money and power. The goal of the progressives is not to raise others up to middle class American standards, but to lower middle class America to a universal impoverished world standard. It’s a shame that most progressives do not realize that this is the goal they are fighting for. They don’t know these things because they, like most, rely on media outlets to give them their information. The younger ones are taught in public schools that government is the end all of every social problem in America. We hear everyday how capitalism itself is evil and destructive to society and must be regulated by government. We listen as our own government wants to push for more unions in the pretense that it’s better for all.

Those that rely strictly on mainstream media for their information are the ones politicians pander to. They tell you all the goods things this bill and that bill will create or do for you. They tell you this as they gathering more power unto themselves then tell you it is so they may ensure that your rights and freedoms are protected and keep you safe even though they assume the power to take away those same rights and freedoms.

If I had only one wish for anything I write or is posted on this website, it would be to create a desire within everyone to do their own research and come to their own conclusions. It is not only your right to think for yourself, it is your responsibility to do so. The country we live in today is not that which our forefathers fought and died for to create and protect. This is not the country our parents and grandparents grew up in and came to love. This is not even the country I spend more than 20 years serving and defending. These are my thoughts and mine alone. I didn’t have or need someone to make them for me or tell me how I should think.

2010. Arguably the most important election year that any of will ever witness during our time on this earth. With an ultra leftist in the White House and Moderate Democrats being a thing of the past, one would think with all the chaos in congress and a majority of Americans disapproving of how the congress and this administration is performing, Republicans would be a shoe-in to win well over 70% of the seats up for grabs this year.

Democrats have no record that they can run on. They have quadrupled the debt, demonstrated blatant disregard for the constitution, ignored the people they were elected to represent, lied, stolen money from our children and grand children, bribed members of congress, used our tax dollars to settle old debts, refused to face their constituents, finished wrecking everything they came into office swearing they would fix and generally making the United States the butt of every politic joke around the globe.

With Democrats leaving the door as wide open as this for a Republican landslide, one would think it would be easy. Sadly, a majority of Republicans shot themselves and their own party in the foot for the past 10 years when they too took bribes in the name of earmarks and voted for TARP, raised the national debt and gave only token resistance to almost everything involving more government intrusion into our lives except Healthcare Reform. You know you are in trouble when you are looking to RINO’s like McCain & Graham for leadership and guidance.

Roughly 30 to 35% of the country is liberal by political standards. These people are not going to vote for anyone who doesn’t have a ( D ) beside their name. 20 to 25% of the country is not going to vote for anyone except those with an ( R ) beside their name. This leaves approximately 45% of voters out there who look at both parties and realize it’s a lose – lose situation no matter who they vote for.

The real problem for the 2010 election is that in many races, there are going to be three viable candidates. On one side you will have the Liberal Democrat (remember, moderate democrats do not exist in today’s world), the Republican nominee who is running with a tarnished party brand and then there is going to be the 3rd party Conservative – Constitutionalist, who does not have funding close to that of the other two candidates. The Liberal Democrat is going to automatically get 30% of the vote simply for being a Liberal Democrat. The Tarnished Republican is going to get about 20% of the hardcore Republican or nothing at all votes. 50% of the votes remain up for grabs. For ease of having to think too hard, let us imagine that there exactly 100,000 voters for each seat up for grabs.

The Democrat has 33,300 votes in his back pocket. The Republican has 20,000 votes in her back pocket. That leaves 46,700 votes to be split three ways. Let us say that the 3rd party Conservative has won the heart of 26,000 of the remaining voters because none of them can stand either party yet.

If the Republican party had not spent the last 10 years shooting themselves in the foot repeatedly, there would be no need for a 3rd party candidate because the Republican would have all their base or 25,000 votes PLUS all of the 3rd party votes or 26,000 for a total of 51,000 votes. More than an unbeatable total regardless how the remaining 15,700 votes go. Sadly though, Republicans have let down their conservative base for far too long making the 3rd party conservative candidate a real necessity.

With only 20,700 votes remaining, the Tarnished Republican trails the Liberal Democrat by 13,300 votes. She would need over 82% or 17,000 of the 20,700 votes to defeat the Liberal Democrat if they were to get all the remaining votes between them. The 3RD Party Conservative trails the Liberal Democrat by 7300 votes so that person would need just over 68 % or 14,000 votes to defeat the Liberal Democrat if they split the remaining vote just between them.

If there is anyone out there that does not believe the scenario I just laid out is not possible, just look back at New York’s 23rd district race of 2009.

I open my eyes and see the sun but where I am, I do not know.
It looks like the place of my youth but that was long ago

The house I grew up in is just down the road
But everything is different now that I’m old

There is the park where we would play in the sun

We would be there all day till the streetlights came on
But now I see no children, where have they gone

Throughout the neighborhood, I’d roam every day
But now all that is left is rot and decay

This was a great place, full of family and friends
Now it’s abandoned, how did it come to such ends?

We need social justice; we need more money to spend
We’re from the government, we are your friend

These are the words the politicians said
But this makes no sense; we are already in the red

But government didn’t care, they got their tax hikes
To pay the new tax, kids got no new bikes

They took over Wall Street, they took over banks
They took more of our money without even thanks

Climate change is coming, the politicians all cried
So they taxed carbon too and our bank accounts died

People shouted: “They can’t do this to us; it’s not in our constitution”
But government didn’t care, they got their socialist solution

Businesses closed their doors after the factories shut down
Government killed the economy, they killed my hometown

People stood in bread lines because no jobs could be had
Never before had I seen it this bad.

The people lost their homes their hopes ands their dreams
While government ignored their shouts and their screams

When will it end, this government greed
We are now government slaves, will we ever be freed

I’m one of the lucky ones by God’s good grace
For I am no longer a member of the human race

God saved me from a life of misery and despair
He allowed me to die, Thank You Obamacare

My wife made a statement to me about a week or so ago. She stated that I never write anything positive and you know what, she is right.

I have sat here in front of this computer for more than a week now and tried to find positive things to write about.

Our Military: God love these people, watch over them and protect them as only you can. This administration could really care less about them. General McCrystal asked for 60,000 troops to accomplish his mission in Afghanistan and he got only half. To justify only giving him half of what he asked for, the administration changed his orders from eliminating the Taliban to building relations with the various leaders throughout the country so that they will turn on those they support and convert to the idea of peace and democracy throughout the region. With that type of a mission, it will only be a matter of time before the administration declares that the phony benchmarks they have set for cooperation will be declared non-obtainable and the administration can once and for all proceed with pulling our troops out of there, making our soldiers, sailors and airmen looking like complete failures, defeated and disgraced, and at the same time appeasing the progressive political base.

Then of course we have the three Navy Seals charged with using excessive force on a known and documented terrorist. If I had killed, burned and mutilated bodies and hung them from a bridge for all to witness, I would expect my captures to beat the ever loving crap out of me, disable me in a permanent fashion and make me one level above a human vegetable. These brave young men are having their careers ruined by this administration for forcing the military to press the trumped up charge of one seal hitting this dirt bag in the stomach and the other two trying to cover it up. The Al’qaeda handbook states clearly that all who are captured are to report about done to them at the hands of their captures. The Navy is giving them a court martial; I would have given them a Navy Commendation Medal if they actually did torture him.

Other than to continue to openly voice my support for our brave men and women in uniform, there really isn’t much there to be positive about.

Our Congress: Pathetic to say the least. The country didn’t want Gitmo closed. The President closed it with an executive order and congress did nothing but stand there with their hands in their pockets and their mouths closed even though a majority of Americans wanted it left open. The Stimulus Bill, the Omnibus Bill, again an vast majority of Americans wanted these dead upon arrival in congress but instead of working to defeat these outright, they debated a couple of amendments and allowed these items to pass. They are doing the same now with Healthcare and Cap & Tax. Americans do not want these, need these or can afford these but again, instead of killing and burying them, they are debating silly amendments that will do nothing in the long run to stop these bills from fulfilling their original intent. Other than Michele Bachman of Minnesota and Marsha Blackburn from Tennessee, I wouldn’t give dime for all the other 533 members of congress combined.

Reps Blackburn and Bachman, keep up the good work and continue fighting for what is right and good for America.

The Administration: With the exception of then President Elect Obama making the statement: “We are 5 days away from fundamentally transforming the United States of America”, we have yet to hear a single word of truth from them. If Bill Clinton can be brought up on charges for lying because he denied having an affair with Monica Lewinsky, then this entire administration should be brought up on charges for they have lied to everyone including each other, stolen from the treasury which means they have stolen from the people, made deals with labor unions and other businesses to further raid the treasury and supported criminal actions of individuals and organizations like SEIU, the Apollo Group, the Tides Foundation and ACORN and their members and leaders. Social Justice; kick all their asses out of office in disgrace. That would be social justice.

Nope, nothing to report on about the administration that could be seen as positive.

I challenge anyone and everyone to give me something about this current congress and administration that is positive in nature. My email address is at the top of Al’s page. Find something, anything and not only will I retract my own statements, I will give you kudos in writing for all to read on Al’s page for proving me wrong.
