Who are we at War with Mr. President?

Who are we at War with Mr. President?
Al Ritter

I wrote an article last year about Barack Obama’s fraudulent claim that we aren’t at war against Islam, he even missed the boat by not claiming we are even at war against “radical Islam.”

As of September 28, 2010 we still haven’t been attacked by Jews, Protestants, Methodists, and Catholics whose only desire is to kill us. The fact is we ARE being attacked by Muslims. Whether or not they are radical is still up for debate, but the fact remains they are Muslim.

Until this country understands that Islam is not just a religion, it is an ideology, our country will continue to back slide into the 7th century. We have already decided in the Supreme Court in the separation of Church and State, and yet here we are decades later discussing whether or not we should make accommodations for Sharia Law. Why is this even a talking point? Every part of Sharia Law contradicts not only our Constitution but also Federal and State laws. Why is this happening? Is it the fear of not being able to discuss our laws with Muslim Leaders for the fear of violence? Is it the fear of violence in our country? I have news for all my politically correct democratic friends……..They ARE here, they are causing acts of violence on OUR soil!

Here’s a partial update since you have been in office President Obama! If we aren’t in a declared war can’t you at least acknowledge our struggle, or is that word out too?

For Love Of Country

For Love Of Country
Kevin Bryant

What ever happened to the days when those serving in the congress were actually a reflection of those in society? Gone are the days of merchants and farmers and we now have almost solely lawyers and doctors. Who decided that only those professions were qualified to be elected to congress?

Gone are the days when people sacrificed to serve their country. Those that served when this country was first founded did not do it for glory or fame. People served because of the great love they had for this country and love for liberty and freedom. A desire to create a place on earth that would allow freedom and liberty to flourish. These were men of honor, usually losing money to serve their country, not making profit from it.

I was watching Fox News Sunday this past weekend and both the John Boehner and Steny Hoyer were on and I think the wood flooring right in front of the television set in my house will need replaced because of all the career politician political posturing that those two did that came oozing out of my television set. They both sounded more like salesmen making a pitch to buy a product than leaders.

Boehner and Hoyer both made me sick and just reaffirmed my belief in term limits. It was quite apparent that neither of these men are there to serve their country first anymore. They are there to serve themselves first, party second and special interest third. Only God can tell us how far down the list “We The People” are on their list of priorities.

We do not need and can no longer afford the “career politician”. What we are desperately in need of is men and women willing to serve for nothing more and nothing less than For Love Of Country.

Liberal Cowardice

Liberal Cowardice
Kevin Bryant

One thing I have noticed over the past couple of years is the fact that the liberal media continues to sink to new depths of journalism. What ever happened to the day when actual journalist aspired to rise to new heights of integrity and honesty?

The media blitz against any and all conservative women running for election or reelection this year and one that is not running at all for office is by far one of the most despicable forms of cowardice I have ever witnessed. Sharron Angle, Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, Carly Fiorina, Christine O’Donnell. More negative stories have been written in the past couple of months about these 5 women than all the democrats running for election and reelection combined.

Ladies and gentlemen, this is nothing but pure cowardice plain and simple. Television is almost as bad but not quite. Growing up in the south, we were taught to respect women even if we disagreed with them. I am now getting the impression that in journalism classes across America, if a woman is a politician and a conservative, she automatically becomes a target of hate, exaggerated smears and outright lies. Yes, I said hate because that is exactly what some of these so called respectable journalists are doing. They are spreading hate simply because they feel these women are easy targets and not capable of fighting back. Then again, why should they fight the liberal press? The liberal press is driving itself right out of business. Are liberal journalists that starved for attention that they will slander any conservative just to get a headline?

Washington Post, New York Times, Baltimore Sun, Kansas City Star, Boston Globe and the list goes on and on…..many of your reporters are worthless pathetic cowards. Do yourself a favor and throw them off your sinking ships if you want to survive as a business.

Things are changing in Maryland but go unreported

Things are changing in Maryland but go unreported

On the home front in the 14th Maryland senate district the main stream new media still talks about Rona Kramer and the close undecided battle with Liberal Progressive stand out Karen Montgomery separated by a mere 104 votes.

The real story however rests with the general election and Karen’s faceoff with Eric Cary, a Republican newcomer poised to take the wind out of her sail. Too much has been made about the primary election, but nothing has been mentioned as yet to the grassroots campaign of Eric Cary, and independent businessman from Damascus Maryland, who has taken the Facebook social network by storm, challenging the ever increasing liberal political progressive machine of Montgomery County, Maryland.

It appears that even though Rona Kramer has been barely beaten in the democratic primary, the choice in November will be between the ultra-liberal progressive septuagenarian, and the much younger Republican candidate Eric Cary. Mr. Cary has not been given the proper credit for his high numbers in the primary, even though he was unopposed.

It’s unusual enough that a republican would run in the 14th district, but it’s even stranger still that that Republican would be African American, or as he would say ….”I’m not African-American, It just so happens that i'm an American that happens to be black."

He’s running on a fiscal conservative platform, but knows that he must represent all voters in his district for the good of the state. He’s holding out his hand to bridge the similarities between Rona Kramer’s supporters and the base of his party to form an alliance of unity before the November general election.

It’s totally funny how the republicans don’t get reported on until the general election comes around, and even then they only get minimal coverage

Why Voters Feel Disconnected

Why Voters Feel Disconnected
Al Ritter

The president has taken to his bully pulpit this week to somehow repackage the same old stuff and to try to sell it as a new and an improved product. Americans aren’t stupid and the refuse to be talked down to as children, Al Gore made the same mistakes and we see where it got him.

Student loans won’t help parents when one bread winner has lost their job. Special loan rates on homes or refinancing won’t help if the family is in financial peril and can’t even make one payment. Can a small business benefit from bank loans to buy new equipment or machinery if they don’t have the customer base on which to grow? Can America benefit from being forced to go green in a staggering economy? Can America even survive the future debt this administration is saddling her with? Stimulus plans are foolish, they only offer a temporary fix for long term problems. Government jobs are NOT jobs in the best interest of the country, there are only so many holes to be dug then filled back in. Let’s stop this madness and return to some degree of sanity and common sense.

Let’s build the private sector jobs and stop creating rules and laws that treat capitalism as the resident evil. The industrial revolution was the greatest time of personal growth in America, let’s study the history of the atmosphere that surrounded that point in time and recreate a real recovery.

We aren’t looking for extenders to patch the inevitable we, need long term fixes. Let’s try for a change to fix the #1 problem in America…JOBS!

Mind Eraser

This picture illustrates the mind- set of the O’Malley Administration. Once the massive tax increases were handed down 4 years ago, they took you on a roller coaster ride to the top. Once there they ran you through a series of turns and twists to make you believe everything was alright. In reality things aren’t alright, businesses are leaving Maryland at an alarming rate, and the unemployment figures continue to climb.

The Governor can’t even adhere to a legislature requirement of a balanced budget without help from his buddy Barack Obama. This is why I call the O’Malley term the “mind eraser.” He expects to run you to the top of the rail again for a slippery ride down, while hoping you won’t remember what he’s done to your beautiful state.

Runaway spending, sacrificing social program stupidity for primary essential services, aka police, fire, and ambulance services, are all part of the mindset of the progressive liberal. This state has to change before it’s way too late. Every day I uncover more and more, and from being involved in a political campaign first hand, I am appalled at the dirty tricks and games both parties play.

In this game of Maryland politics the participants eat their own, and neither side takes prisoners, they destroy them! I think that unless you have name recognition, or run your own program and don’t rely on the party for help, they will eat you alive in Maryland.

Obama declares war on 19 million Americans

Obama declares war on 19 million Americans
Al Ritter

19 million is a pretty large number, especially when you discover that Obama and his Administration and Congress don’t think that those Americans are “paying their fair share.” The magic number that the Administration has set as the qualifier of “richness” is not necessarily true.

19 million Americans started and maintain their businesses as a “sole proprietorship.” By need or by design these people chose to set up businesses the simplest way possible avoiding the cost of creating a corporation. The large majority of home based businesses are sole proprietorships. Under IRS rules they file their income taxes to include the earnings from their businesses.

Now if a small home based business where to make a modest yearly income, we could expect they would make a 10% profit margin. If that owner were to make an average income of say $35,000 a year the amount of gross income would have to be at least $350,000 or higher, and that amount would show on his income tax return.

Under the Obama administration and under the democratically controlled congress that business owner who makes $35,000 a year is considered rich! None of this ever seems to get mentioned, and yet they continue to promote class warfare.

Obama is a lawyer, he knows what a sole proprietorship is and how important it is to America’s small businesses, but he has made the conscience decision to wage war on yet another group of Americans.

My Personal Trip for a 9/11 Remembrance

I had to bring this special report to my readers

My Personal Trip for a 9/11 Remembrance
Eric Cary

I was thinking last week of how I’d celebrate those patriotic lives that were sacrificed during the terrorist attacks of 9/11. I thought about the different sites and the hype and drama that surrounds two of them, and quickly dismissed both, not because their sacrifice was any less, but just because of the drama and political issues that surround them almost one decade later.

I have always had a special place in my heart for the heroes of Flight 93, for their patriotic unselfish actions of that day. I knew Laura Bush and Michelle Obama planned to visit the Shanksville, PA site on September 11th, but I didn’t want to be part of that craziness, so I decided to make my pilgrimage the day before.

I got to see a peaceful country side whose physical scars have healed, but the eerie feeling of a gravesite is still present. I tried to put myself in the shoes of those brave Americans who decided not to let the terrorists win that day, but it is tough to imagine what exactly went through their collective minds once the decision was made to bring down that airliner on that beautiful fall morning.

They had to know there was a bigger target in the terrorist’s minds that day as they felt the change of direction of the huge plane. Did they suspect Washington DC? I couldn’t help but to wonder if they knew about the other planes that had already found their marks in New York City and the Pentagon. I wondered if they made a conscious effort to spare additional lives if their plane had targeted another heavily populated area, or if they just decided to deny any kind of target to Islamic terrorists.

My tour of the information center confirmed my worst fears, all the 40 passengers knew of the other attacks and had actually voted on a counter attack that ended Flight 93 upside down and plowing into that Shanksville quarry at 580 MPH. When the black box was recovered buried some 25 ft. in the crash pit, it confirmed that the setting on the auto pilot was set to the GPS coordinates of the White House.

Transcribed airfone conversations the passengers had with family members were truly heart wrenching, but the resolve they all showed was uplifting.

As I stood there looking over the hallowed site a feeling of pride welled up in my soul, a feeling of American patriotism that I’m sure was present that fateful day. A feeling shared by 40 people, and an action decidedly taken without hesitation for the good of America, one that was taken without so much as a thought about political correctness, political parties, or racial profiling. The action was taken to protect additional lives, everyone on board was convinced that the actions they took would save lives, but I’m sure at that point they knew their sacrifice would be fatal and complete.

The reason I travelled to this site was that the heroes of Flight 93 knew their situation was dire, and yet they still made that uncompromising decision to end one leg of what could have been a far deadlier day.

To those heroes I came to give my silent thanks and to their families an undying gratitude of their ultimate sacrifice. They will never be forgotten in my lifetime as long as I have a breath left in my lungs.

Most of the primaries are over and in every state so far, there has been as much bickering about who won certain nominations has there has been celebrations of those victories. The nominees aren’t conservative enough or they are too conservative. They agree too much with Bush policies or agree too much along the lines of Reagan.

Way back a long time ago in history (2008), we had the same problem. There were too many people on both sides who were fed up with George Bush and especially his domestic policies during his last term in office. Republicans by the 1000’s stayed home and refused to vote because Grandpa McCain was the party nomination as Bush’s successor. Too many people took the attitude that I am a Romney or Huckabee supporter and there is no way I am going to vote for Grandpa. Well, by staying home, you got your just reward, Grandpa wasn’t elected president and all of you who chose to stay home have been complaining about Obama since the day he was sworn in.

So what if Rand Paul or Sharron Angle or whoever won the nomination in your state wasn’t your choice. Is your decision not to back the candidate that did win the primary doing you or the other party’s candidate more good? My guess is the other party is better served by you sitting at home and still steaming because the candidate of your choice lost. Here in Missouri, I’m not overly thrilled with Roy Blunt as the successor of Kit Bonds but it certainly beats having Robin Carnahan in office giving Obama two automatic yes votes from Missouri.

It’s time to either unite or surrender. What will your choice be?

Timmy Ruppersberger, cousin of US Rep. Dutch Ruppersberger, a lawyer in a very prestigious law firm is running for Baltimore County Council in District 2 under the Democratic banner. You would think with her vast knowledge of law and being on the inside track to civic issues she would know the very basic laws and common courtesies involved in everyday life.

This was not the case this morning as I drove down Falls Rd. and saw her first hand doing a sign waving at the intersection of Falls Rd. and Greenspring Valley Rd. I assume her need to be close to her Mercedes Benz was far more important than the needs of handicapped people that shop in the stores close to that intersection. To park in a handicapped parking space in Maryland you need to display a handicapped placard from the rear view mirror or display a handicapped tag on your car. The white Mercedes Benz proudly displaying her campaign sticker showed neither.

One has to wonder if she has already assumed the role of an elitist democrat before the primary has even been contested, or has her cousin Dutch already rubbed off on her?

Not Really Goodbye

I have found all sorts of ways to get motivated enough to sit here and write something. Sometimes it is the topic itself. Sometimes it’s the fact that I had a discussion or debate about the topic within the past couple of days. Sometimes it is something I hear on the radio driving into work in the morning and sometimes it’s something that I think you will find interest in and possibly stirs up a little emotion.

I have tried my best not to bore you to sleep or bring you to the point where you would like to stick ice picks in my eyes so I could never again see a keyboard and produce such dribble. I try not to hit the same topic more than once without a good deal of time having passed between the first and second blogs and I try to type things just as the words would be if I were saying them out loud.

It’s with a bit of sadness I write this. My personal life has taken a very sudden and unexpected turn and is about to change in a way that will make it practically impossible to keep writing. I’m going to miss this. It’s a lot like therapy but you don’t have to pay by the hour to get things off your chest. Who knows, if something irritates me enough, I may forgo an hour or two of sleep and rant for 30 paragraphs about it. So, have you heard the last from me, I doubt it. However there will be months between blogs not days as before.

Not all is bad in my world. I have just passed the 30 day mark since smoking my last cigarette. For someone who has smoked for more than 30 years, this is arguably the toughest thing mentally that I have ever done. If you smoke, don’t worry, I am not going to call for your damnation. I still firmly believe that smokers should have the same rights as people who drink alcohol. I still believe that property owners should determine if smoking is to be allowed in a business establishment and not a bunch of politicians or nut jobs who think they know what is best for everyone.

I hope you all found many of my almost 200 blogs entertaining if nothing else. 2 months to go before the 2010 mid-term election. Hope you are out and doing your best to get good candidates elected and handing a lot of incumbents pink slips.

Take care and God bless.

Is Gov. O’Malley Cooking the Books?

Is Gov. O’Malley Cooking the Books?
Al Ritter

It was just a few short weeks ago that the Maryland legislature and the Governor were involved in some serious hand wringing over the legislature mandate of a balanced budget, and the inability to do so.

The federal government grant called “Race to the Top” seems to have cured all the spending woes of the O’Malley Administration. The curious timing involved in the administration’s claim of now having a $300 million surplus, just happens to tie nicely into the announcement only a week ago of the education grant award of $430 million.

It doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see that the grant was tossed into the Education Budget, and now Martin is raiding the education cookie jar to make his spending appear in control.

Unable to control his spending habits, O’Malley has started buying property again, this time 430 acres of prime waterfront acreage on the bay. This Administration is totally unable to curb his spending habits, and property purchases while the value of property is down may be the hedge against inflation O’Malley is counting on.

Eminent domain is widely known as a way the government may acquire property for “economic development.” It’s one thing to basically steal property from individuals in the government name, but very easy for the government to purchase the property cheaply then turn it over for private development later, thus taking a huge windfall profit to fund more social programs, and the O’Malley Administration has purchased more property than any other governor in the past.

It’s time that the people from Maryland wake up and smell the corruption and greed before the debt gets so deep nobody can dig us out! He's laughing at you Maryland.....not with you!

Civil Rights or Human Rights?

Civil Rights or Human Rights?
Kevin Bryant

OK, I already know that some of you are going to totally disagree with me and that is fine. That is what makes America so great, if we disagree, we can come right out and say it or even shout it if we want to or we can debate it. The founding fathers disagreed and debated on many topics during the writing of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.

Civil Rights – no I am not going to give you the Webster definition or anything. Pretty much everyone in this country knows enough about the civil rights movement to know what it was about, that it passed congress and became law. It had a few kinks in it but those too have long since been ironed out.

With this in mind, would someone please tell me why Al Sharpton had to have a civil rights march on 8/28 or why he condemned Glenn Beck on television for not using the term “Civil Rights” in his speech on 8/28?

Prior to the speech on 8/28, Glenn Beck stated that he was going to take back civil rights. In his speech, on that day, he stated for the taking back of our God given human rights as the constitution dictates we all possess. Sorry to “offend” anyone, but CIVIL RIGHTS is over. It’s been passed already. The ONLY thing left to be debated on any so called rights granted to a specific group of people is the right of gay and lesbians to marry, and I have already stated my opinion on the subject.

Taking back civil rights. You have to take back the original meaning because it means something totally different now. Government is hijacking OUR rights, you, me and every citizen of this nation’s civil rights. It’s no longer a skin color thing. It’s a “WE” thing and the sooner “WE” all learn this, the better off “WE” will be. If “WE” don’t get it together now and take back OUR civil rights, not only will we never see them again, our children and grandchildren will not see them either.
