Another Subversive Group Leans Left Silently

We are all well aware of certain groups that lean left, AARP, NPR, are but just two. We have a new supposedly unbiased group which leans left.
In a time where subversive activities are reaching an all-time high, I have to admit, I was a little slow on the draw with this one. Each morning and night to prepare for my activities, I find myself watching the Weather Channel for the day’s forecast. I usually pick my time to watch very carefully, waiting until that magic “On the eights” minute. This has served me well for the last few years, getting only the information I want, when I want it.

I rarely watch the Weather Channel on the weekend, because I’m usually so busy. Sometimes when I channel surf late at night or on the weekend I shake my head in amazement at the programing I see on the Weather Channel.

Ever since the founder John Coleman left the Weather Channel, things have been slowly creeping into the format that has little to do with predicting the weather on a daily basis. Shows expressing personal or corporate opinion and explained as fact, are becoming more and more evident.

I watched the other night dumbfounded as a Show hosted by Mike Bettis claimed that ALL major weather events were now being credited to “Climate Change” even though no credible peer reviewed study has proven suck a link.

After the one hour show concluded Mike came back on in a clearly labeled “commentary” claiming that even though many viewers had written in complaining about his claims on the show there was irrefutable evidence to the contrary, thus merely reitterating Al Gores' misguided claim about Global Warming....er ummmmm Climate Change.

Here is where his claim falls short, when the channel allowed him to refute his detractors they made him label his comments as “Commentary.” If it had actually been fact no such disclaimer would have been needed. I carefully watched for any other bias during the day, and I got exactly what I was looking for. The Weather Channel is now doing break aways for news updates, and they are using MSNBC!

A little investigation goes a long way in uncovering subversive activities, and I was rather surprised to see the sale of the Weather Channel was accomplished quietly in 2008 to NBC Universal and two private equity firms, The Blackstone Group and Bain Capital.

I will certainly watch the Weather Channel for now on rather sparingly……..whatever happened to just watching the weather forecast?...........Do you suppose the phone number WE6-1111 has been taken over by CNN?

Experts with questionable credentials set policies for the world

Al Gore, a self described expert in climate change has no degree in climatology. He doesn’t even possess a teaching degree to teach first grade science, but he now claims to be an expert in yet another field. He claims that Polar Bears are in danger of extinction. He spewed his opinion about their endangered status again at the Copenhagen Cop 15 meeting. He has used his opinion and those of his supporters alone to have the Polar Bear an endangered species in the United States, and hopes to have them declared “endangered” worldwide, but can’t site credible proof of that claim.

In this sadly inaccurate video another Hollywood actor supports the WWF and Al Gore.

Actual scientists who study Polar Bears weren’t allowed to even testify in Copenhagen about the real size of the polar bear community. The WWF was however allowed to erect an ice carving of a Polar Bear, which they erroneously claim to be endangered too. In 1950 there were only 5000 known polar bears worldwide, and now the population exceeds 25,000. Even a Senate Report contradicts Gores claims. These figures haven’t stopped Al Gore or his community of Hollywood “chicken littles.” To go along with Gore’s claim that polar bears are disappearing, he had to have a reason their population is waning.

He claims that the polar ice pack in the Arctic is disappearing, but unfortunately that claim doesn’t hold water either (no pun intended.) The polar ice pack has been increasing, and Gore’s minions have under reported that ice by the size of the state of Texas! This doesn’t stop the man; in fact covering the FACTS has always been his strong suit.

Along with the polar bear experts, the real scientists (ones, who disagree with Gore,) weren’t allowed a voice in Copenhagen either. What we had instead was speeches from John Kerry, an equally unqualified scientist wanna-be. Even Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger got into the speaking act. He can’t seem to run California fiscally but has his own opinions on how to spend the world’s money.

Politicians want to end the scientific controversy of man-made global warming, and embark upon their own agendas of making money on the so called catastrophe. It’s certainly no secret that Al Gore has his own company that deals in selling “carbon credits,” (the easiest way to cash in on the green money.) His net worth after he retired from the Vice Presidency was close to 2 million, and now exceeds 100 million. He claims he donates all his earnings to charity. This is laughable because the charity he donates to is his own! He decides how that money brought in, is doled out, and yet he flaunts this self arrogance for its maximum effect.

Check out this disgusting ad shown in England using the Polar Bear as a scapegoat.

The head of the IPCC……the BIG Cheese at the UN on Climate Change…….Dr Rajendra Pachauri is reportedly involved in the same basic schemes of carbon credit sales as Al Gore, and yet they are allowed to continue as if no conflict of interest even existed.

Message to the Liar in Chief: You can’t have it both ways!

The administration prompted by Al Gore, and John Kerry think they have a lock on what’s happening on the “global whatever” front. I say, whatever, because they can’t make up their collective minds. They have made prognostications on the climate of the earth based on flawed data for the last 20 years, and depending on what the latest computer model says, they have pushed a political agenda.

Let’s look at the “global warming” scare as covered by everyone for the last 20 yrs. The very first Earth Day it was prophesied that the climate was cooling, and it was caused by man-made CO2 production. When it was discovered that the trend wasn’t cooling but in actuality, warming, they decided to blame the newest trend of warming. Well they ran more computer models, none of which came to fruition.

They were not satisfied because their premonitions didn’t come true! Now they claim that where ever the climate goes, it’s the fault of humans (climate change.) Mr. President you can’t have it both ways, claim warming, claim cooling, but you can’t claim everything!

They claim that everything happens because of human life, disease, economic downturns, natural disasters, everything!

Let’s get real here, although Al Gore claims all this stuff, and the IPCC (International Panel on Climate Change) says something, please note that the panel includes the word Intergovernmental, it doesn’t mean it’s true according to scientific fact. The word Intergovernmental means it has to do with governments……..POLITICAL! The reports from the supposed un-biased panel are actually subject to modification or editing if the desired reports don’t conform to the general consciences of what they wish to push.

The courts of England have upheld a ruling that Al Gore’s film had 9 lies in it. Yet in our country, no such declaration exists, thusly Gore gets away with his wild and unsubstantiated claims, and the Administration gets the same kind of special pass.

The lies were present in the Clinton Administration, as the Kyoto Protocol was signed by then President Clinton, but the Congress told him that they would never ratify it, because of its World Governance wording. Today’s Copenhagen agreement will be no different about the World Governance issue, but the progressive liberals think this is a good idea, as shown in evidence by John Kerry.

As it stands two of the largest countries in the world refuse to sign the Copenhagen Agreement, China and India, and they are the world’s largest polluters. If they take no responsibility in the pollution of the world, then why should the civilized nations?

Contact your Congressmen and Senators, and tell them that the Cap and Trade bill in our country, and the Copenhagen Agreement, is just too expensive, and unless the whole world is willing to participate, it will do nothing to curb global pollution!

Obama using scare tactic to pass cap and trade

Obama used a scare tactic last week in an effort to push his cap and trade policies. He claimed that Southern Florida and North Carolina Beaches would be swallowed by water, even though no evidence of such events through actual calculations exists. The scare tactics are based on worst case scenarios, and computer models, which have in the past proved to be wrong. Remember when Al Gore referred to the condition as “global warming?” Then once that threat proved to be wrong, he now refers to it as “climate change.” Hard to be wrong when you include ALL weather changes now,isn’t it?

"Global Climate Change Impacts in the United States," was orchestrated by a media consulting company and comes just as Congress is approaching a vote on plans for huge new taxes on energy. This report has all the fingerprints of David Axlerod and his astroturfing company that is known for altering public opinion through various sources, some of which can be labeled as extremely questionable. The report was compiled by 30 NOAA scientists, environmental activists, and political strategists, but scientists that disagree with the report claim it’s nothing more than scare tactics.

The report warned of possible sudden death for humanity, because the "projected rapid rate and large amount of climate change over this century will challenge the ability of society and natural systems to adapt." The report still warns about global warming even though that trend has stopped, by what many scientists think will be several decades. Even if this scenario were true, it is a proven fact that humans, and plant matter flourish in warmer climates. The flip side of these known facts is that a cooling era would cause far more problems in crops, and human death than an era of warming. Historically more people die from cold weather then they do from heat related deaths.

Let’s think about what Al Gore claimed in his movie, he claimed that higher CO2 emissions caused global warming. This was later declared a fallacy, by many scientists, and now seem to be the talking point for a house of cards about to fall. Al Gore claims that the CO2 rate continues to climb, but the temperature has remained stable for the last 5 years, so how can this claim possibly be true now? Enter his new claim of “climate change,” it will only be a matter of time before he tries to link CO 2 to “global cooling,” all the while increasing his personal fortune through his “Non-profit” company. Gore claimed that he gives all his income from the movie, books, and speaking fees to a non-profit company. Of course he does, it is HIS company, and as CEO he may designate his own pay, and perks. Gore has increased his personal wealth from 1.5 million when he left office to over 100 million now. There can be no rationalization about how he acquired those funds. He is an egomaniac who still has a chip on his shoulder for the election that he feels, was stolen from him, and this is the way to obtain the respect that he lost.

The biggest problem with what the administration wants to push down our throats is that cap and trade does nothing on its own to reduce emissions! It only taxes the ones being produced, and if Obama doesn’t think that those costs won’t just be passed onto the end user, he is sadly mistaken. This is merely an avenue for the government to make more money on taxes plain and simple, and they are attempting it through lies and partial truths with no scientific backup other then “computer modeling” and as we all know, the weather forecast is rarely correct 7 days in advance, why should we believe a prediction years in advance?

Lord Monckton, science advisor to Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, was invited to a global warming testimony on Capitol Hill last week. Rep. Joe Barton Republican from Texas invited him, to offer a differing view from the one most Democrats accept, that of Al Gore.

At the last minute House Democrats led by Henry Waxman, retracted Lord Mockton’s offer to speak. Apparently the First Amendment is only for other citizens, and Waxman prefers that the only opinion that counts is that of Al Gore, lord of the cap and trade. During his one-man show by design, a Congresswoman asked Gore about his rapidly accumulating wealth and if the cap and trade system were to start, would he personally benefit?

He bristled at the accusation, but never answered the question, instead attacking her with a question himself….. “Do you think I do all this for just the money?” Funny he should ask that question, as his accumulated wealth has blossomed from 8 million to over 100 million since leaving office, according to Bloomberg. He is on track to be the first “carbon billionaire,” even though the Democrats are trying to actively silence every scientist who doesn’t believe the official Gore theology.

All this came days before Secretary of State Hillary Clinton following her bosses lead of “apologies to the world” and falsely claimed, "The facts on the ground are outstripping the worst case scenario models." Then went on to claim that the U.S. shares a majority of the climate change in the world.

The methods used by global warming alarmists to convince you that more carbon dioxide is going to ruin the Earth are increasingly laced with insults and attacks directed toward anyone who might disagree with them. For instance, one of the many intellectually lazy (& false) claims is that I am paid by Big Oil.

Mr. Gore’s tactics have been a little more subtle, and reminiscent of propaganda methods which have proved to be effective throughout history at influencing public opinion. One should keep in mind that his main scientific adviser, NASA’s James Hansen, has the most extreme views of any climate researcher when it comes to predicting a global warming induced Armageddon.

Listed below are ten propaganda techniques I have excerpted from Wikipedia. Beneath each are one or more examples of Mr. Gore’s rhetoric as he has attempted to goad the rest of us into reducing our CO2 emissions. Except where indicated, most quotes are from his testimony before the U.S. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, March 21, 2007. (Mr. Gore is scheduled to testify again tomorrow, January 28, 2009, before the Senate’s Foreign Relations Committee…if the cold and snowy weather doesn’t cause them to reschedule.)

Appeal to fear:

Appeals to fear seek to build support by instilling anxieties and panic in the general population.
“I want to testify today about what I believe is a planetary emergency—a crisis that threatens the survival of our civilization and the habitability of the Earth.”

Appeal to authority:

Appeals to authority cite prominent figures to support a position, idea, argument, or course of action. Also, Testimonial: Testimonials are quotations, in or out of context, especially cited to support or reject a given policy, action, program, or personality. The reputation or the role (expert, respected public figure, etc.) of the individual giving the statement is exploited.
“Just six weeks ago, the scientific community, in its strongest statement to date, confirmed that the evidence of warming is unequivocal. Global warming is real and human activity is the main cause.”
“The scientists are virtually screaming from the rooftops now. The debate is over! There’s no longer any debate in the scientific community about this.” (from An Inconvenient Truth)

Bandwagon:

Bandwagon and “inevitable-victory” appeals attempt to persuade the target audience to join in and take the course of action that “everyone else is taking”. Also, Join the crowd: T his technique reinforces people’s natural desire to be on the winning side. This technique is used to convince the audience that a program is an expression of an irresistible mass movement and that it is in their best interest to join.
“Today, I am here to deliver more than a half million messages to Congressasking for real action on global warming. More than 420 Mayors have nowadopted Kyoto-style commitments in their cities and have urged strong federal action. The evangelical and faith communities have begun to take the lead, calling for measures to protect God’s creation. The State of California, under a Republican Governor and a Democratic legislature, passed strong, economy wide legislation mandating cuts in carbon dioxide. Twenty-two states and the District of Columbia have passed renewable energy standards for the electricity sector.”

Flag-waving:

An attempt to justify an action on the grounds that doing so will make one more patriotic, or in some way benefit a group, country, or idea. Also, Inevitable victory: invites those not already on the bandwagon to join those already on the road to certain victory. Those already or at least partially on the bandwagon are reassured that staying aboard is their best course of action.
“After all, we have taken on problems of this scope before. When England and then America and our allies rose to meet the threat of global Fascism, together we won two wars

simultaneously in Europe and the Pacific.”

Ad Hominem attacks:

A Latin phrase which has come to mean attacking your opponent, as opposed to attacking their arguments. Also Demonizing the “enemy”: Making individuals from the opposing nation, from a different ethnic group, or those who support the opposing viewpoint appear to be subhuman.
“You know, 15 percent of people believe the moon landing was staged on some movie lot and a somewhat smaller number still believe the Earth is flat. They get together on Saturday night and party with the global-warming deniers.” (October 24, 2006, Seattle University)

Appeal to Prejudice:

Using loaded or emotive terms to attach value or moral goodness to believing the proposition.
“And to solve this crisis we can develop a shared sense of moral purpose.” (June 21, 2006, London, England)

Black-and White fallacy:

Presenting only two choices, with the product or idea being propagated as the better choice.
“It is not a question of left vs. right; it is a question of right vs. wrong.” (July 1, 2007, New York Times op-ed)

Euphoria:

The use of an event that generates euphoria or happiness, or using an appealing event to boost morale:
Live Earth concerts organized worldwide in 2007 by Al Gore.

Falsifying information:

The creation or deletion of information from public records, in the purpose of making a false record of an event or the actions of a person or organization. Pseudo-sciences are often used to falsify information.
“Nobody is interested in solutions if they don’t think there’s a problem. Given that starting point, I believe it is appropriate to have an over-representation of factual presentations on how dangerous (global warming) is, as a predicate for opening up the audience to listen to what the solutions are, and how hopeful it is that we are going to solve this crisis.” (May 9, 2006 Grist interview)

Stereotyping or Name Calling or Labeling:

This technique attempts to arouse prejudices in an audience by labeling the object of the propaganda campaign as something the target audience fears, hates, loathes, or finds undesirable. Also, Obtain disapproval: This technique is used to persuade a target audience to disapprove of an action or idea by suggesting that the idea is popular with groups hated, feared, or held in contempt by the target audience
“There are many who still do not believe that global warming is a problem at all. And it’s no wonder: because they are the targets of a massive and well-organized campaign of disinformation lavishly funded by polluters who are determined to prevent any action to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming out of a fear that their profits might be affected if they had to stop dumping so much pollution into the atmosphere.” (January 15, 2004, New York City)
